  1. Maggs walked. Runners on 1st and 2nd with one out.
  2. No matter where he went I would have felt the same way. If you are a first round pick (especially the lottery) its to much guaranteed money to pass up on. Your agent takes very little from your first contract because rookies of the rookie salary structure and as long as they do a halfway decent job budgeting their money they are set for life.
  3. There haven't been any to declare. But he has a great chance to be a very good NBA player. 6'6" PGs don't come around very often. Sebastian Telfair on the other hand...
  4. Good decision. He is a sure fire lottery pick and that would be impossible to turn down. I would do the same thing in his shoes. And before we get the people saying he isn't ready, who cares he'll be making a ton of money, won't risk injury and school is always there if he wants to when his NBA career is over. And yes I would be saying the same thing if he had chosen U of I.
  5. Were you trying to post this image?
  6. To defend Pujols, he clearly caught that ball last year and that is one of the worst calls I have ever seen an umpire make.
  7. Probably, but that is why I said I would take him in a heartbeat, IF the White Sox could afford him (which they obviously can't).
  8. I would still take him in a heartbeat if the Sox could afford to do so. Pedro may not be unhittable as he once was but I would still put him up there with just about any pitcher in baseball. Lets not forget that just two years ago he was 20-4 and with a 2.26 ERA and last year he won 14 games with a 2.22 ERA. How many pitchers could do that if they were "past their prime". And for everybody being so concerned about Pedro this year the guy still has a 3.03 ERA.
  9. Equally so. And I'll say the same thing I did in that one.
  10. Never mind then. I only had heard they hadn't reached a decision. Well, its been proven time and time again in this country that if you have money you can get away with anything so why would this be any different.
  11. See my above post. They haven't reached a decision on the reckless manslaughter charges yet. He was acquitted of aggravated manslaughter.
  12. Actually, he can still be found guilty of reckless manslaughter which the jury hasn't reached a decision on yet.
  13. Who Rashad McCants or J.R. Smith? Deng is better than both those guys.
  14. I keep reading this and I keep seeing your reply to Apu. It is pretty simple. Just don't respond and he won't keep posting on the subject.
  15. Do you mind if I steal this and post this on the illiniboard?
  16. Hudson didn't pitch that badly and would have at least gotten a win if Oakland's bullpen wouldn't have imploded.
  17. Man, you're a big disgrace and I need to put you back into your place.
  18. I don't think so. I was the one who brought her to the board first.
  19. Who do you think you are? Only Be Good is allowed to start stupid threads with song lyrics.
  20. You don't know Illini fans very well if you think Bill Self coaching the team will please us.
  21. No thanks to all the above except for Hinrich and Pierce.
  22. Exactly, with the way the NBA rookie cap is set up as well as guaranteed contracts for first round picks, there is not one logical reason to stay in school if you are a first round pick.
