  1. No, I don't know anyone on the board well enough to say if they are idiots or not. I used it twice when people said we met expectations "at best". If they would have said that merely meeting expectations isn't good enough is fine. But to say a team that won the outright Big 10 Champs despite having a key player get in trouble with the law and having the players not buy into the coaches system early in the year is meeting expectations at best is ignorant.
  2. f*** Bruce Pearl. Way to go Jimmy and the Flames.
  3. I keep reading that UI met expectations "at best". What the hell would you have liked the team to do that they didn't. Go undefeated? And I also feel Bo Ryan and Steve Alford are more deserving. UW isn't loaded with talent (though they do have the league's best player) and they competed for the title. And even frickin Alford is more deserving, Iowa had injuries, finished ahead of NW in the league and Iowa actually has a winning record. No coach who's team has a losing record should win coach of the year plain and simple. Sorry if I feel that a coach who took a team that was supposed to be bad to simply being very very mediocre isn't deserving of coach of the year. So next year is Dan Monson (Minnesota) or Ed DeChellis (Penn St.)the COTY if they take their teams to around .500 records in conference? According to you guys they would be. Why don't we just forget the coaches who win Big 10 Championships or compete for them and just look at which team that was supposed to be crappy did decently.
  4. What expectation hasn't been met up to this point in the season? No bad out of conference losses and outright Big 10 champs. I'm not sure what expectation could have been met. Maybe I'm the only one that feels the Big 10 is to good of a conference to have its COTY be from a team with a losing record. Carmody did a great job and I won't say he didn't, but COTY should never come from a team with a losing record that unless they win two BTT games won't even be in the NIT.
  5. Yep 22-5, #12 team in the country, and BT outright champs sure seems mediocre to me. But I'm sure the coach who's team has a losing record is more deserving. Carmody did a good job but its not like NW has no talent this year.
  6. The Big 10 has released their award winners. Devin Harris won both the Media and Coaches POTY and Kris Humphries was named Freshman of the year by both. Kenneth Lowe was named defensive player of the year by the coaches. All of these guys are very deserving, the coach of the year I have to question. Bill Carmody won the coach of the year per the media. I don't understand this selection one bit. Why reward mediocrity? Basically they're saying, since NW went from crappy team to a mediocre team who may not even qualify for the NIT he is the coach of the year. WTF? Obviously my choice would have been Bruce Weber, UI was outright champs, he had to deal with disciplinary problems as well as the team not buying into his system. Steve Alford (who I despise), would also be more deserving as he coached a team with a lot of injuries to a better conference record than NW. LINK
  7. Correction, outright Big 10 champs. They have shared the title numerous times.
  8. Yeah, those are awesome but I already posted them. And I was one of those people celebrating in the upper right corner. LINK BIG 10 CHAMPS
  9. He wasn't in the act of shooting though. By the time the guy fouled him the ball was basically in the hoop already.
  10. A Stanford player hit a three from the corner and well after the ball was released, it was almost in the hoop, a WSU player jumped into him and fouled him. It should have been an off the ball foul resulting in him shooting the one and one or two (I'm not sure how many fouls WSU had).
  11. Great shot by Lottich. Absolutely terrible basketball by WSU. I've seen grade school teams do a better job running inbound plays than that when trying to hold onto leads. Pathetic just like the Pac 10.
  12. He really should have gotten two FT's. That was well after the act of shooting.
  13. You have to love the fact that despite the Big 10 being 5-1 against Conference USA including freakin Iowa winning on Louisville's home court. But the national media has decided that Conference USA is the far superior conference.
  14. You're right Heads, Jas does suck at this quite a bit.
  15. Thats my favorite part of that picture. That and all the PU fans with their hands on their heads. And it was great when the team and Bruce came back out after all the Purdue fans cleared out and the Illinois fans were still in the building chanting Big 10 Champs. Awesome.
  16. Not true, U of I wears Orange for both home and away games and many teams have an alternate uniform designated as both home and away.
  17. Ah...good memories from last night. Actually that section of Orange at the top is where I was sitting.
  18. This was hands down the best sporting event I have ever witnessed in person. Nothing compares to that game. Wow, that was just awesome. I'd give you a more detailed description of my night, but I'm kind of tired and am going to sleep. Big 10 Champs Baby
  19. What have you seen from A-Train that makes you think he could be a stud RB. He is decent when he gets very good to great blocking. Otherwise he sucks. He isn't great at breaking tackles and he can't make people miss, he has good vision that seems to be all.
  20. Great game. Chris Hill was at the line with under 20 seconds left and missed both FTs. It wouldn't have iced the game because they would have only led by two so its impossible to say what would have happened. Harris missed the game winner but UW would have run something different if they needed a quick bucket rather than going for the game winner. Also, Paul Davis had leg cramps and looked like he was having a baby or something.
  21. I wouldn't really want Sapp all that much anyway. You don't need to have a stud at DT, just someone who can hold position. I'm ashamed to say I haven't really looked up who is available though. There are a couple halfway decent DT that could be available at the Bears first round pick however.
  22. Wow...I may actually be excited about a Bears season for the first time in a long while (2001 doesn't count, I knew that was a fluke). If we get Jevon Kearse we are a DT away from having an absolutely dominant D if everyone stays healthy.
  23. A very fast and athletic DE who when healthy is one of the better defensive lineman in the NFL.
  24. The Cubs do too unfortunately.
  25. I know, just messing with you. I'm expecting a very difficult game. I really don't understand why the Gene Pool can't wear black or the rest of the fans can't wear gold like you said. Just doesn't make sense and doesn't make for the same type of atmosphere, especially when there will be a lot of orange sprinkled in.
