The Bulls weren't going anywhere with that nucleus anyways. Elton Brand is a solid player who doesn't seem to help his team win ball games. Artest got exposed last year in the Eastern Conference Finals when Tayshaun Prince made him his b****. And while Brad Miller is a nice player he certainly isn't leading a team to the promised land. That team would be just a mediocre eastern conference team who even if they made the playoffs would be knocked out early (which I guess is better then having no chance at all to make the playoffs).

Hes probably scared of losing to the Cubs in the first round again.

Also, Dodgers came back from being down 4-0 in the 9th against the Rockies to win. The more games they win the better, hopefully they have a playoff spot clinched going into the weekend series against the Giants.

Anyone else see this? Someone threw a bottle at him after he made an error that cost the Dodgers some runs. He walked over to the stands and spiked the bottle over there. He was ejected and I have to think he'll get suspended. Way to be there for your team when they need you Milton. :rolly

Well, Olivo hasn't hit worth a damn since being traded and Fransisco may be deported and is suspended for the year for throwing a chair into the stands so hes not exactly the kind of guy I want on my team. As for Reed I would agree that it was a mistake to give him up, but if thats was the price for Garcia then it was a deal at the time that KW should have made.

Unfortuantely it isn't a joke and is part of the growing trend of hyping kids that show any promise at sports. Its getting a little out of hand at this point. Lets stop blaming kids for buying into their hype and start blaming the media for doing this to them at such a young age. Its impossible to say how good a kid will be when he is even a freshman in high school (with a few notable exceptions) let alone 4th grade. Let the kids be kids.

Screw trading for a QB who at best will get us a few extra wins and hurt the Bears draft position. With the secondary in the shape its in and not exactly having a tremendous amount of talent on offense to begin with this team isn't going anywhere.

Why not? I still haven't heard a good argument for this. Should players who play professionally overseas not be able to win the NBA rookie of the year? Fact of the matter is its his first season in MLB and he should be eligible for the award.

He said single season and Magglio has never hit 40 so Konerko does have more HR in a single season then Maggs ever has. However, Belle had 49 for the Sox one year and Thomas has a career high of 43 so Konerko hasn't caught him yet.

Speaking of Michael, anyone else hear the rumors he may be making another comeback with Miami. Personally I wouldn't mind seeing it because I still loved watching him play with the Wizards and still would probably enjoy watching him play now.

Not being the star player on your team doesn't mean you aren't a star. Would you say Kareem Abdul Jabbar just because Magic was the star of that team or that Kevin McHale wasn't a star for the Celtics because he played with Larry Bird. I've never been a big fan of Pippen's but he was a great player and one of the best defensive players ever. He is a sure fire HOF and probably should be on the top 50 of all time list.

How is that, my argument against Self was he wasn't at Illinois long enough to build a program and the same thing goes for Larry Brown. The only reason I brought up Krueger is that it seems people have the belief that Self is the one and only reason Illinois basketball is at currents level.

The difference is Self wasn't at Illinois long enough to build anything and lets not forget that it was actually Lon Krueger who really made it possible for Self to build a very good team at Illinois by putting together the Elite 8 team.

Cards would definitely be my top choice along with the Astros if they somehow get in. As for teams I don't want to see win it: Cubs, Yankees, Red Sox, and Twins. Everyone else I'm pretty indifferent towards.
