September 23, 200421 yr http://pittsburghlive.com/x/tribune-review...s/s_254260.html Thanks for an amazing run, Pip. What you helped bring to Chicago during the 90's will NEVER EVER be forgotten. Enjoy the rest of your life.
September 23, 200421 yr I could see him coaching in the future. I do not think he was one of the 50 greatest, however. Thanks for the memories and good luck.
September 23, 200421 yr I could see him coaching in the future. I do not think he was one of the 50 greatest, however. Thanks for the memories and good luck. Why do you not think he was? Best role player ever. You ever see some people's numbers that are in the basketball hall of fame? He would put some of those players to shame.
September 23, 200421 yr Author I do not think he was one of the 50 greatest, however. The second best player for argubly the greatest dynasty in nba history? The top sf for an entire decade? Argubly the best perimieter defender EVER? A superb all around game matched by a select few in the history of the game? I'd say he's without question a top 50 player.

If the guy had done anything outside of MJ's shadow, I might believe he was. But regardless thanks for the memories Scottie For a brief moment in time, Chicago had a champion.

September 23, 200421 yr During the Bull Dynasty (versus the Pistons Die-Nasty) Scotty and MJ susspended in time the relentless path to All-O No-D NBA basketball. From high atop the stadium I watched those two play both ends of the court better than anyone else in their era. I think Scottie was a bit of a head case, but add his D to his O and he's a first ballot, top 20 forward of all time.

September 23, 200421 yr You have to be a star player to be one of the 50 greatest ever. Scottie wasn't even the star player on his team.
September 23, 200421 yr You have to be a star player to be one of the 50 greatest ever. Scottie wasn't even the star player on his team. How the hell was he not a star? He was always always mentioned in the 90's.
September 23, 200421 yr You have to be a star player to be one of the 50 greatest ever. Scottie wasn't even the star player on his team. Not being the star player on your team doesn't mean you aren't a star. Would you say Kareem Abdul Jabbar just because Magic was the star of that team or that Kevin McHale wasn't a star for the Celtics because he played with Larry Bird. I've never been a big fan of Pippen's but he was a great player and one of the best defensive players ever. He is a sure fire HOF and probably should be on the top 50 of all time list.
September 23, 200421 yr I remember when that list first came out and shaq was in the league for only 1 or 2 years and he was on it. Now that was total bulls***.
September 23, 200421 yr Michael Jordan was the best player of all time, of course scottie wasn't the star on his own team. There is no doubt in my mind scottie was the greatest perimeter defender ever, he's a top 50 player easily, imo. Great Career pip, I wish you the best.
September 23, 200421 yr If the guy had done anything outside of MJ's shadow, I might believe he was. But regardless thanks for the memories Scottie For a brief moment in time, Chicago had a champion. didnt he lead the bulls to the playoffs when jordan retired.... and outside of jordan and pippen are team wasnt really that good it was a bunch of bench players mostly
September 23, 200421 yr didnt he lead the bulls to the playoffs when jordan retired.... and outside of jordan and pippen are team wasnt really that good it was a bunch of bench players mostly He sure did. We had a great opportunity to win it all that year also, if Hugh Hollins wasn't blind.
September 23, 200421 yr He and Micheal were easily one of the best one-two combos ever essembled. To Scottie, even though you should have hung them up a long time ago. :cheers
September 23, 200421 yr He and Micheal were easily one of the best one-two combos ever essembled. To Scottie, even though you should have hung them up a long time ago. :cheers Speaking of Michael, anyone else hear the rumors he may be making another comeback with Miami. Personally I wouldn't mind seeing it because I still loved watching him play with the Wizards and still would probably enjoy watching him play now.

Enjoy the rest of your life. I am around 75% sure Scottie will find a coaching position within the next 4 years. But yet again I am a person who also said the Sox were going to finish the season with 90 wins
September 24, 200421 yr To Scottie, even though you should have hung them up a long time ago. :cheers Not playing, and making millions of dollars was to much for Scottie to give up. Boy was he really giving the Bulls some financial trouble with that ludacris two year deal they gave him last season, atleast he's off the books.

September 24, 200421 yr Scottie Pippen is not just merely Top 50. More like Top 25. We are talking about the greatest transition defender ever, and one of the finest perimiter defenders ever. No Pippen, no championships. Only someone who didn't witness it all as it happened would say otherwise. I won't even get started on the fact that he was the only man in the NBA who could dunk on ANYONE in the early-to-mid 90s. Not even Jordan could do what Pippen did to Patrick Ewing...numerous times I might add. Pippen was, as the kids would say, "da bomb".

I loved watching Pip when I was younger. Without him we would not have had the team we did. to a great career and thanks from a Bulls fan. I'm sure we will see him around again in some capacity somewhere.
