I would still take him in a heartbeat if the Sox could afford to do so. Pedro may not be unhittable as he once was but I would still put him up there with just about any pitcher in baseball. Lets not forget that just two years ago he was 20-4 and with a 2.26 ERA and last year he won 14 games with a 2.22 ERA. How many pitchers could do that if they were "past their prime". And for everybody being so concerned about Pedro this year the guy still has a 3.03 ERA.

Actually, he can still be found guilty of reckless manslaughter which the jury hasn't reached a decision on yet.

Exactly, with the way the NBA rookie cap is set up as well as guaranteed contracts for first round picks, there is not one logical reason to stay in school if you are a first round pick.

What does it matter. He is going to be a top 5 pick and he'll be making millions of dollars. My guess is he will be better in his 4th NBA season then he would be if he stayed in school for the duration and was a rookie at the same time.
