The big thing is it would save us over $10 million dollars in payroll. A $14 million dollar salary just doesn't fit into a $60 million dollar payroll.

I'd like to see Batista and Ponson personally, and they probably could be had for the about the same amount as it would have taken to get Ponson. I would feel pretty good going into next year with a rotation of Buerhle, Ponson, Loaiza, Batista, and Garland.

Some of us have lives off of this board.

If either comes cheap they would make a nice addition to the bullpen.

Personally, I like this move for the Astors. They get a pretty good young pitcher in Duckworth and a very good prospect in Buchholz. Wagner is a great closer, but Houston badly needed to cut payroll and this will allow them to be a player in the free agent market. Plus, they do have Dotel and Lidge so it is not like their bullpen will be awful.

What is cudious, I know what KUDOS is but I've never heard cudious before.

So if they step up to replace Sweeney what exactly does that mean. They replace the production of by far the best player on a very mediocre team. Anything is possible but the chances are very remote.

How do you figure? They were barely over .500 last year and lost their best player to the NBA draft.
