Michael Moore is a great man when it comes to corporate crime. He is right on the button and I f***ing love watching him f*** with corporations that are guilty of sickening s***. (Like CR Bard which had put illegal heart catheters in people and were directly related to 2 deaths and multiple injuries) The guys were found GUILTY IN A COURT OF LAW 4 years ago and still have yet to spend 1 day in jail. And a lot of his stuff on Bush is right on target. I was able to procure for myself a copy of President Bush's report card from Yale. OMG, so f***ing funny. He was getting low 70s in nearly every class. And this is our leader. Bush didn't go around the White House taking genius pills after Sept. 11, it's still the same guy that has a record that is "conservative and compassionated" and that's not "subliminable" information, either. C'mon now, the Republicans lambasted Clinton every which way for getting a blow job and lying about it and we had to spend months on end having to hear about Monica's magical orifice, cigars, and we all had to sit through seeing that swamp hag Linda Tripp (and her 8 chins) all over the news. If we are so critical of a President, then why must we all sit back and give Bush a carte blanche to do whatever he and Cheney, Ashcroft, and Rumsfeld all want? I mean, there are tons of shady deals that Bush has made and nobody has called him on this bulls***! Especially things like Presidential Order 13233 (it's the Presidential Order that is blocking FOIA from getting Reagan and Bush documents...which violates the Presidential Records Act of 1978. A link for arguements for this are at http://writ.news.findlaw.com/scripts/print...an20011109.html And people have always been interpreting the Constitution various ways. f***, look at Plessy v. Ferguson and Dred Scott compared to the new precedent brought forth in Brown v. Board of Education. That shows that people read the Constitution different ways. (Slavery was legal and the subjugation of blacks was Constitutional despite "all men are created equal" in the Constitution.) It's not just liberals that pick apart the Constitution, it's institutionalized into nearly every social group. I mean, look at the religious extremists trying to get prayer back in school because the date says "In the year of our Lord" yet completely dismissing the establishment clause of the Constitution.

A present from SnR to the hippies and Sadam!

I was happy at the power of the peace rally/march we had. The fact that only 10 counter-protesters showed up throughout the day was quite favorable. Also, I never silenced him....he has the right to speak but nobody said that we have to listen. So, he was speaking but after the 19th "f*** SADDAM" with no elaboration, it was repetitive and thusly we started singing. He kept speaking though, despite nobody listening to him. After he figured out nobody was listening, he went home. -

It amuses how Americans go on about freedom of speech all the time, and then when someone expresses their opinion and it's different from yours you're outraged that they could say such a thing. But then when have Americans ever been hypocritical? That never happens, I mean take, for example, ignoring the UN and going to war with a country because that country is ignoring the UN, that's not hypocrisy at all. -
Baggs, the Al Qaeda "preventative detentions" is just different semantics for "war criminals" so we can get out of having to abide by the human rights conventions. Follow my logic. There is a war on terror. They have been captured and are our prisoners. Doesn't that make them prisoners of war? (Bush and Co. are just using semantics because Al Qaeda is not a sovereign nation.)

I also wonder if George would be willing to tell us which one of these guys went to 'Nam in his place after his ass went AWOL. http://www.archives.gov/research_room/rese...tx_by_town.html

I lost pretty much all respect for Powell after his blatant lie of a speech in the UN. I am just about as angry that Bill Clinton's draft dodging got over 13,641 news stories, yet Bush going AWOL has only received the attention of 49 stories. "I am angry that so many of the sons of the powerful and well-placed... managed to wangle slots in Reserve and National Guard units...Of the many tragedies of Vietnam, this raw class discrimination strikes me as the most damaging to the ideal that all Americans are created equal and owe equal allegiance to their country." (Colin Powell’s autobiography, My American Journey, p. 148) Um...Colin...have you talked to your boss about this anger? What about guys that get those slots, and then don't even show up for duty?

A senior law enforcement agent was recently quoted in the Wall Street Journal, upon news of the arrest of Khalid Shaikh Mohammed, that "there's a reason why he isn't going to be near a place where he has Miranda rights or the equivalent. You go to some other country that'll let us pistol whip the guy." The US is violating international law. We can't be violating it and then somehow claim a higher moral ground when another nation does the same. They're both wrong in what they are doing, don't misconstrue my statement. I just get angered that we torture, harass, etc. prisoners and yet we can somehow claim a higher moral ground when other countries capture our prisoners. That's the thing, Steff, the US media isn't covering our "preventative detentions" that we have in undisclosed locations all over the United States. According to various human rights groups, many US citizens and foreigners have been picked up, held without lawyers, without the ability to contact their family, and without being charged of a crime (except the crime of being Middle Eastern) and held in detention because "Al Qaeda is a mosaic, so we need to figure out which parts are part of the mosaic." So, meanwhile they are letting people rot in detention cells. In court cases in NY, the ACLU discussed this with a judge who found these "preventative detentions" as "odious to democracy". Through the court, the ACLU was able to find out that many were being held in solitary confinement and in chains. Yet, this is humane treatment according to the Geneva protocol? I think not. Yes, what Iraq is doing is wrong too. They are both incredibly wrong on this issue of prisoner treatment and it sickens me. It sickens me even more that the US parading around like the innocent party when we do our fair share of harsh prisoner care.

Table for the Dufranes. Table for the Dufranes. Nobody knows where the Dufranes are. How can you people eat at a time like this? The Dufranes are in somebody's trunk right now...and they're hungry. Mitch rules. I throw a baked potato in the oven...even if I don't want one.

As a young man, Powell helped to cover up the Mi Lai massacre. That made him a bit iffy in my book. Then after his UN speech, I want to know how he could actually speak the lies (since most of it was plagiarized information from 1991 that they were trying to make look current). However, I do like how he and Condie Rice didn't support Lott and how they both also got on Dubya's case about affirmative action. He was pretty much against the war in Iraq for a while, then caved and did a 180. Weak sauce.

We can support the troops without supporting the President. - Republican Trent Lott, failing to support the U.S. president, during the Kosovo crisis -
He's right. Bush didn't win the election. Mike Moore was right. The entire war in Iraq is a sickening sham.

Go Mike! What site did you find this?
-
Man...now I have to go check the corporate media to see what he said. I'm totally anxious to hear what the hell he said!!!!!

What'd Michael say at the Oscars? Did he win for Bowling for Columbine?

Any schoolgirl would have more courage. HSC was a schoolgirl and she would run from nothing. Please do not insult schollgirls by comaprting them to G W Bush. And as I recall it, most Americans voted for a veteran for president in 2000 - right now I am trying to remember what was Cheney's excuse - was his the old football trick new, or was his the few pounds overweight? wouldnt bill clinton be considered a chickenhawk too under apu's definition??? I never said that I liked Clinton. :fyou Bill Clinton.
-
He had other obligations. I am not 100% sure what they entailed...but I am pretty sure that they were 100% bulls***.

Did anybody see Canadian Bacon when they are driving the car with the insults written in english all over their car and the cop pulls them over....he tells them that if they have signs they have to be in French and english, so they have to write all the insults in French too? (sorry to change the subject, just all this anger and stuff in Canada made me think of the movie, haha )
-
It's Faux News, excuse me Fox News reporting it too. I'm VERY hesitant to believe what the U.S. corporate media says now, especially Fox.
-
"Chickenhawk" is a special term reserved for those that advocate the military being used to solve problems yet did not serve their country when they had the opportunity, it's not condemning every person who just didn't serve. It just condemns those that didn't serve that can somehow find it in themselves to advocate others going off to die. In 1952 Joseph McCarthy appointed Roy Cohn as the chief counsel to the Government Committee on Operations of the Senate. Roy's terrorism was helping with the McCarthy "Red Scare" and "White terror" of the 1950's. (White terror comes from names of the Red and White Armies during the 1917 Soviet Revolution....the Reds = Communists and the Whites = extreme anti-Communists)

According to the BBC this afternoon, they have had 3 major accidents in 3 days so far in this war.

http://www.awolbush.com/ This guy used Freedom of Information Act requests to get a lot of documents used by the Boston Globe to break the story that Bush went AWOL in the military. I know I have brought this up before, but I just wanted to share this with you all...I am so incredibly outraged at this especially when this man is sending off people to fight and possibly die in Iraq and this guy gets to sleep in the Lincoln Bedroom comfortable with himself that he can somehow unapologetically send men off to die, yet run away like a frightened schoolgirl when it was his turn to go serve. Makes me sick to my goddamned stomach. http://www.awolbush.com/whoserved.html that is a list of who served http://www.nhgazette.com/chickenhawks.html that is a list of all the pro-war chickenhawks

Was Blix given enough time to find weapons all over the nation of Iraq, destroy the ones he found (these are f***ing lethal weapons, that takes time) Being hurried throughout Iraq and not given much time by the United States, I am gonna say that Blix would have found them...if given the adequate time they needed to find everything. Also, they don't know what chemicals and stuff it is yet. So, let's wait for the analysis.
-
Thank God France is committing 30-40 troops who specialize in chemical and biological weapon identification, handling, and disposal I'd trust them over some average Joe who has no idea what the f*** he is doing.

They deserve a good kick in the ass. Eisenhower warned us about the power of the military industrial complex and the U.S. defense department working together and how it could spell trouble. If only we could have listened.
