  1. WWECW is still a hot topic at the E. According to some reports: It's said that Brian Gerwitz and Michael Hayes are the main enemies of Heyman and ECW right now. They've been worried about ECW making the RAW brand look weak and have been doing pretty much everything they can to push down Heyman, who has been on Stephanie McMahon's bad side for a while now. Kevin Dunn is also saying that ECW shouldn't have their own taping night with their own road crew. NBC Universal also wants ECW to use Raw as a lead-in and keep storylines from Raw onto ECW. -- I just find this hilarious that the writers that were shown up by Heyman's excellent booking/storyline creation are the ones complaining that he's making them look bad. Perhaps, and I don't know here, Steph/Gerwitz can make...um...Raw entertaining for once and make viewers want to watch instead of dumbing down ECW's entertainment value. It can't be that hard with the talent of Carlito, Benjamin, Edge, Flair, Foley et al. on there. Come on, Raw writers, STFU and do your job without complaining that you're being shown up like the (and I'll steal a line from Foley) "pieces of crap" you are. Many of these guys on the creative staff know nothing about wrestling or the wrestling biz and they are getting shown up by a storyline creative genius. But shutting the guy espousing quality ideas and programming that I'm enjoying is much more sensible, right Nipple H? That's the problem with the E. Can't have something excelling or beginning to excel unless they're in with the 'in crowd' power players of the E.
  2. QUOTE(MHizzle85 @ Aug 12, 2006 -> 11:29 AM) It's the WWE it's not supposed to make sense...I mean this is the same company that makes a grown man wear a dress outside of the ring as well. Yeah, it's staying in character but come on. It really is a shame that these grown men have to stay in "character" outside of the ring. What about Eugene? He has to stay in his "character" outside the ring as well. What does that do to a guy's social life? Edit: Here's the Regal/Goldberg match where Regal made Goldy look like a complete fool in the ring.
  3. Shannon Moore's push is in jeopardy after a match at the Hammerstein. The crowd turned on him and he got on the mic saying "I'm not here to impress the internet" and really got pissed. He was supposed to beat CW Anderson but Vince changed the outcome and had Moore do the job. The thing I don't get/like is this: Dave lost his cool and went off on the fans on the mic at the Hammerstein as well after the crowd got under his skin for booing his no-talent hoss ass. Yet he gets a free pass because he's a main eventer for whom Vince has a hardon.
  4. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 07:57 PM) How about never? Dude, don't you get the point that pointless, aimless "hottie" worship is awesome! Who cares if they never have a chance at meeting them or that they'd wet their pants in anxiety talking to them? I mean after all, it heightens the standards for the guys here to an extent that they'll turn down the kind of women that will actually f*** them. Hence, they shant procreate. A wonderful biological protection mechanism system rolls on.
  5. LOLZ! Khal and Undertaker last man standing match for SummerSlam is being taken off the SS card because: Khali can't wrestle well live. The match will instead be taped for SmackDown. The reason for this is after the house show matches between the two, it's been decided that Khali can't excel in anything physical on live television. Apparently all of his Smackdown TV stuff always has to be heavily edited. Hooray Vince, push a hoss to the moon and then remove him from the PPV because he can't wrestle. Brilliant stategy! No wonder the WWE is so awesome!
  6. I loves the interweb. Got this link at Wrestlecrap: http://forums.sohh.com/showthread.php?t=589175&page=121 All the CM Punk marks can now enjoy lots of matches. I haven't checked out the rest of that thread so there's a great possibility there's a ton of upped matches there.
  7. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 11:19 PM) I really wanna shut this thread...is that an abuse of power? I'm still trying to figure out what the point of it is or what functional purpose it serves.
  8. QUOTE(Purdue129 @ Aug 8, 2006 -> 11:20 PM) $10 GA for ROH on 8/26 @ rohwrestling.com this week I've said it before and I'll say it again, do yourself a favor and check it out. With the roster it's pretty much impossible for them to put on a bad show. I concur: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=12...q=6+man+tag+roh Do Fixer vs Blood Generation 6 man tag match in ROH. All I can say is...Wow. That was pretty damn good. And for good measure, the CM Punk vs Raven Clockwork Orange House of Fun Cage Match http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-1...3&q=cm+punk

  10. QUOTE(Texsox @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 01:25 PM) One function we have given to the government is our collective economy and the financial impact we have on each other. If you're behavior is costing me money, then the government should mediate. Another point, the government is actually you and me and everyone else. We elect representatives as our proxies. It is their business to do whatever we ask of them. If we decide they should be involved in what each citizen puts in their body, then they have the power invested in them by the people who elected them. There's plenty of people addicted to legal "drugs" like alcohol and cigarettes yet there is no mass government crackdown on the "lack of productivity" caused by people having to take multiple smoke breaks during the day or those that show up to work hungover on Monday morning. If it is okay to put some known as dangerous materials into a person's body and have it be socially acceptable, why not other drugs -- especially if they are responsible with usage and can pull it off without hurting anybody else? After all, alcohol and cigarettes kill more people than crack, coke, heroin and pot combined each year. And in the idealist world the government does represent the people. However, the government represents their own power-hungry interests, the interests of those who can influence peddle with donations and the such instead of truth, logic and reason. Look at the criminalization of marijuana in 1937 for some real easy proof.
  11. QUOTE(MHizzle85 @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 02:39 AM) Thanks for upping a match featuring The Great Muta...was i the only one that marked out as young'n in his WCW days...i mostly because he had facepaint and sprayed mist. As you can tell it didn't take much to amuse me as a child. Muta was one of the reasons that I was watching WCW for a long time. He was so awesome in the ring. I marked so hard for him when he'd make the appearances on Nitro from time to time with Masahiro Chono and the rest of nWo Japan. Watching a lot of his older Japanese matches is fun because they are so awesome. It just sucks that his knees have taken so much wear and tear over the years that he can't hit his fantastic moonsault anymore. But that being said, I still mark so very hard for shining wizards! -- The ECW show was solid again this week. Dreamer/Sandman and Knox/Test feud got furthered productively with Sandman and Dreamer looking strong during their matches and afterwards. The Fertig match -- although my one criticism is that a vampire should not be able to use a crucifix anything as a finisher -- was good. The swerve at the end of the show was pretty good too during the Angle/Sabu match. The only bad part of the show was that terribly botched Van Daminator.
  12. QUOTE(samclemens @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 01:07 PM) i agree, i think there would be a huge spike in usage for quite some time And then the levels decrease to lower levels than those nations who have criminalized it -- or so says the experminents of states who have decriminalized soft drugs and added in safeguards for those who use hard drugs (i.e. clean syringe exchanges etc.) And really, if a person is not harming another person, what business is it of the government or anybody else what a person is putting into their body?
  13. QUOTE(MHizzle85 @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 12:45 AM) ummm, as happy as I was to see RVD back tonight. I was equally as pissed for that shady finish in the #1 contender's match...at least Heyman's getting creative control back. How about that botched Van Daminator? Jeez, that was ugly.
  14. Perhaps you've heard of the Muta Scale for excellence of a blade job. Here's the match (Not for the feint of heart) Also, Kobashi vs Misawa -- one of the legendary poruesu matches.
  15. So who's excited for Sabu vs Angle #1 contender's match tonight on ECW? Edit: TRU, that was such a sick bump from ONS II. Almost as bad as when Funk took the bump in the barb wire. I was just disappointed to learn later that the result of the Sabu/Mysterio bump (the end of the match) was just a work.

    SNL

QUOTE(juddling @ Aug 8, 2006 -> 03:17 PM) A Top 10 list of Will Ferrell's funniest SNL skits (with video) Not exactly my top 10 but there was one or two i hadn't seen before. Actually, any of his Jeopardy skits had me rolling. Ferrell was a damn good straight man in those Jeopardy skits. As for some of my faves: Little chocolate donuts -- the breakfast of champions Eddie Murphy's reggae band at the VFW Jeopardy Patrick Stewart as the erotic cake salesman Farley's motivational speaking / slapstick humor for a cheap laugh Weekend Update (any of them without Jimmy "Ohmygod, HAHAHAHAHA I'm breaking character!" Fallon) The "You be careful with that" toy salesman But they really don't hold a candle to In Living Color's "Wrath of Farrakhan". /much bigger fan of In Living Color and Mr. Show than I am of 90s SNL.
  17. QUOTE(T R U @ Aug 8, 2006 -> 03:12 AM) hey LCR whats that site that you go to with those avatars? I've found them from certain people on wrestlecrap.com's message boards.
  18. QUOTE(MHizzle85 @ Aug 8, 2006 -> 12:59 AM) Oh, I just read that the rumor is that the 2nd ECW PPV will be in Chicago... I don't know whether to anticipate or boo. Depends on where the product goes. Heyman is also pushing for Dreamer to get partial booking abilities for ECW. And oh yes, Ric Flair rap song:
  19. QUOTE(MHizzle85 @ Aug 7, 2006 -> 11:24 PM) embarassing. funny, but embarassing. so anybody else excited for this Foley/Flair I Quit match at SummerSlam...this could be the show stealer. It has a possibility to be a really great match. I was kinda sad because the promos seemed to go downhill from Foley's initial promos in Greenwich studios. But it still looks like they can go pretty hard and put in a quality match. And also, can they give Armando Alejandro Essssssstrada a stable of wrestlers? It is amazing how over he is compared to "Haha, the Samoan Bulldozer" Jamal -- er, sorry, Umaga. We get it. The Thumb of Doom is not a finisher, not to mention every match against a main eventer has been won with lots of outside interference to a terrible degree that makes him weak. Besides, he's just being "fattened up" to do the j.o.b. to SuperCena at a big PPV after the booking staff/creative completely delegitimizes Edge as a worker and qualified champ to carry the company since they've done a good job of that so far. Baw Gawd Kang! SuperCena just FU'ed a 500 pound man! Baw gawd! Baw Gawd Kang! Triple H has got family to feed! Damn Satan, Satan Jr. and the Thumb of Doom!" "Like a gulf war, brother / He attacks from the air!" "Are we going in the limo?" "No, we're gonna step!" It's sad that such an athletic worker got saddled with such bad gimmicks.
  20. QUOTE(samclemens @ Aug 7, 2006 -> 03:54 PM) what are you talking about? off the top of my head, why dont you go look at the last page of the "gaza, israel" thread. i dont cite stuff that is widely known or that ive seen in the news a bunch of times. AND when i do source, it's from breitbart, foxnews, other widely read stuff that at least has a shred of credibility (as opposed to iggy, who cites either the above garbage or a youtube video). the most biased site ive ever cited here would have to be "ynet", a pro-israeli newspaper. so maybe you could explain to me where you are coming from? i do cite all the time, do you have me mixed up with someone else? you would trust a site called electronicintifada.net over those? good for you. see what you want to, i guess. I'd trust EI over Faux News for sure -- mainly because they aren't given memos of how they're supposed to make the news stories look every day.
  21. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 7, 2006 -> 12:29 PM) Yes, we all hate Scott Steiner. I think we can agree on that. I'm glad someone else has decided to sport Perfect in their avitar. He was so easily my favorite wrestler of all time. BTW, who is he perfect plexing there? I'm pretty sure its the Giant/Big Show.
  22. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 7, 2006 -> 09:36 AM) Where did you get that avi? From this wrestling board that I frequent. They have some amazing avatars including one of my favorites since I loathe Scott "Poster Boy for Roids" Steiner.
  23. QUOTE(Brian @ Aug 6, 2006 -> 10:31 PM) I've seen highlights of Guiness and liked some of his stuff. I could see him going over near his hometown. Too bad ROH can't get a TV deal, maybe they don't want one. Lots of matches I have seen are top notch. Anyone ever see anything from Pro Wrestling Guerrilas? The Human Tornado is quite entertaining. Indeed about the Human Tornado. I always laugh in a mark fashion at his gimmick hometown (can't post it here without getting in trouble but available on his Wiki site -- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_Tornado) Plus, he's good in the ring. Edit: Fun factoid of the night: CHIKARA kayfabe commisioner is...::drum roll:: Bob Saget. Yes, the Bob Saget.
  24. Big news from ROH. The main event of ROH's debut in the UK on Saturday in Liverpool will see the World and Pure Title unified. There is a press conference in the next ROH Video Recap that will name the rules. Here is a preview: -The bout will feature ROH World Champion Bryan Danielson vs. ROH Pure Champion Nigel McGuinness. -The match will be contested under Pure Title rules so the rope breaks will be in effect and the Pure Title can change hands on DQ and countout, but the World Title can also change hands on a DQ or Countout. -There will be no time limit. -In the event of a double DQ or double countout, the match will be restarted. ROH will never be the same after Liverpool. The first title change of 2006 is GUARANTEED to take place on this event. ____ Looks like they're going to get rid of the Pure Title at this show. It seems like an interesting gimmick belt: Matches for the Pure Championship are conducted under three simple Pure Rules: * Each wrestler has three rope breaks to stop submission holds and pinfalls during the match. After a wrestler exhausts his rope breaks, submission and pin attempts under the ropes by the opponent are considered legal. * There are no closed-fist punches to the face allowed in a Pure match, only open-handed slaps or chops to the face are allowed. Punches to other parts of the body (save for low-blows) are permitted. The first use of a closed fist will get a warning, and the second will cause the wrestler to be penalized a rope break. If he is already out of rope breaks, he will be disqualified. * A wrestler is subject to a twenty count by the referee if the wrestler goes to the floor. While not a rule itself it is worth noting that unlike other championships the Pure championship can change hands on a disqualification or count out. -- This looks to be an excellent match.
