He can take any risk he wants in my book bc he is hands down the best defender we have in the outfield and one of the better in baseball.

He just gave up 1 more run than they would have gotten. 1 was scoring on the hit and the other on a sacrifice fly. So not that dumb. He took the risk and it failed so be it.

Mendick's ceiling is as a utility player at best. Burger has special talent which is why we drafted him where we did and is playing well. If he can handle 2B he will be up to play there for the rest of the season (he has to show he can play there first though).

The should be the beginning of the end for Mercedes. Fun while it lasted but unless he comes out on fire soon, they need to turn elsewhere. Mendick has his days numbered as well. Fingers crossed Burger stays hot in Charlotte and then finally gets his shot.
