Colome remains with White Sox, who always had ample interest in him
Don't get me wrong, you could do worse than Haseley (like Roman Quinn ), but the Sox need pitching more than anyhting. Cole Irvin and Erik Miller would be a very nice package.

Teams are interested in Nova? Trade him!
Scherzer just went on the DL. You think they would trade Juan Soto for Nova?

And the clubhouse was a huge mess. On paper the team was decent though, didn‘t PECOTA project them for 85 wins?

Padres are dangling Franmil Reyes and Hunter Renfroe in trade talks. Doubt they would be available for Colome though. And it would have to be a three team deal.

Lol...Stroman to Mets
So he was lying in his tweet? People do that? Just tell lies on the internet? ?

If he ends up with his 2017 numbers that is still a shrewd pickup for $2 million.

But they didn‘t. I like how depending who is arguing Vaughn and Madrigal go from horrible picks with limited upside to easy BPA: Schrodinger‘s draft picks. :loll

Colome remains with White Sox, who always had ample interest in him
In a perfect world the Sox should target a pitcher who has shown promise in the lower minors instead of going for safer, but limited upper minors players.

Was never a big fan of Haseley, he has a 4th OF profile to me. And we have plenty of those in the system.

Cody Ponce the guy they received looks like a pretty solid return for Lyles.

They signed Luis Robert and drafted Nick Madrigal and Andrew Vaughn who are looking to be key pieces of next year‘s or in Vaughn‘s case of 2021‘s team.

The White Sox will(or at least should) be a aggressive this offseason, which leads to a contention window starting next year or 2021 at the latest. Of course injuries, like this year has shown, are always a factor, so there is some luck involved, but a 3-4 year rebuild is not outrageous and a pretty quick turnaround.

Teams are interested in Nova? Trade him!
If the Sox can only get salary relief they should hang to him. Nova isn‘t great but he eats innings and that‘s exactly what he was brought in for.

Signing good to great players to team friendly deals is not a knock on the FO.Finding the right trade pieces and deciding when to trade them is something the Sox FO should be commended for. The Marlins had better assets and got very little in return. Weird take.

Sox interested in Edwin Diaz

Sign Strasburg or Cole to anchor the rotation. Wheeler would be the consolation prize. Wacha on a 1 yr deal to restore his value, have him battle it out with Lopez for the #5 spot. Cole/Stras Giolito Kopech Cease Wacha/Lopez Rodon should be back in July to help limit Kopech‘s innings.- Sox Interested in Marco Gonzales
Pretty sure Strasburg will opt out with the year he is having. Teheran and Quintana could have their options declined. Teheran is more likely with the pitching depth the Braves have. Plenty of interesting guys on the market this year.- The fragility of some fans on this board recently...
You are way too hung up on a throwaway remark Hostetler made in a fluff piece about Collins.- 7/28 Games
Hopefully he gets a shot soon. He can't be worse than Reed. #YearningforYermin- Lol...Stroman to Mets
Cespedes is coming off the books next year but they are paying Cano until the end of the 2023 season. What a mess- Lol...Stroman to Mets
That‘s a Mets move if I ever seen one. I think they will trade Wheeler and convince themselves that they will be contenders next year, even though they should probably blow it up. Sounds like a team I know.- Why WAR is stupid for Closers, especially for Colome
Replacement in WAR doesn't mean average. It's meant to represent a random guy called up from AAA. I couldn't tell how their methodology works, but it appears to be sound or it would have been challenged by now. IIRC the average WAR for position players is 2.- A fair and balanced soliloquy about Jose Abreu, by ron
Fair enough I guess, but it also shows that the Rays weren't even willing to pay arb money to someone who had a better season than Abreu.- Eloy back, Rondón DFA
Engel or Cordell. Or they find a taker for Jay.- A fair and balanced soliloquy about Jose Abreu, by ron
That‘s not a fair offer, that’s a serious overpay. C.J. Cron, coming off a better year than Abreu (and having a better year again) had to settle for $4.8 million. - Sox Interested in Marco Gonzales
