I am jealous of the Astro's Front Office. They have done an exceptional job building a system. An exceptional job adding through trades, and excellent job of scouting and development. And they haven't rested on their laurels. Jealous.

Gallen looked like a solid option as a starter. Now that the Marlins have traded him, I know I was right.

So Faria has been in AAA most of the year, and pitching mostly as a middle reliever. I kind of feel like he is being overrated here. He has pitched 10 innings in the bigs, it looks like he is the last man in the pen, sometimes literally going weeks between appearances. Tampa didn't seem to think they had much in him. What am I missing?

Can't even hit a dinger. What a bum.

Uh, I think that is Harry Potter. ?

Tim not playing for Charlotte. Probably a sign he will be in the lineup for the Sox tomorrow.

What? When was the last time a team got through a season using 25 guys?

So, the BAA is great, but an OPS against of .910? That is rough. Are those the real numbers? That is every hitter essentially being better than Nolan Arenado (.900) Juan Soto (.904) Mookie Betts (.892) or Yoan Moncada (.893). In particular that SLG against, is just scary. There are only 7 players in MLB this year so far with a SLG of .597 (Josh Bell) or higher. They are Springer, Cruz, Rendon, Trout, Yelich and Bellinger. That is a weird place to build support for a pitcher. -
It really seems like he does something (mostly hit homers) every day.

Yeah, and well earned. He has been great.

Still looks pretty strong though, only the Rays with more "prospect points". Vaughn debuts quite highly. It is also bolstered by Kopech and Cease still being on there. The sigh and eye roll guy for me here is Alek Thomas being number 63. 34 XBH, 10 SB, 43 BB, 68 K's. .300/.387/.474. Oh well.

Barf. This just made me think of trading for Todd Ritchie. Double Barf. -

I agree, and other than blind hope, don't understand why anyone would think that he is an option. -
I'm not sure why anyone would have confidence in free agency. That has been this team's (and not just this FO) biggest challenge. They haven't shown themselves to be anything other than incompetent in free agency.

If you could pick one position player to add to the roster

Ok fine, that is true, and I agree, but wasn't your premise and question what position player would you add? -

First of all, you'd pass on the best player in baseball because of a guy that has played a week in AAA? I love Robert, and can't wait for him to get called up, but that thought is insane. Anyway, I'd hate to have two elite hitters and defenders. That wouldn't be ideal. I mean you couldn't even play them both at the same time. Wait, what is that? A team needs 3 OFers?????? So you could have Trout, Robert and Eloy? Uh, yeah. Give me that.
