I wasn't considering value at all, since winning isn't really a thing that matters this year. None of the offseason signings will add anything to the team when it matters. At best they are all zero value. I was looking at just plain dollars. Honestly, I thought it was less than the 4.1, I was thinking he was like 1.5, maybe I switched the numbers in my head. Me too. The stuff is clearly there. It is just harnessing it and staying healthy. Carlos has everything he needs to be a dominant starter. He, Yoan and Tim could be (and have been) the silver lining to this crap sandwich of a season.

They aren't all perfect fits, but Grandal, Rendon, Andrus*, Ozuna, Castellanos, Bumgarner, Cole, Porcello, Strasburg* would all be targets that could make an impact in addition to JD. * Player can opt out of current deal. Didn't add guys with team options like Starling Marte and Corey Kluber.
