  1. The good news is that you pretty much have to hit someone to get stopped for a DUI on a chicago street, so as long as he stays off the expressways, he won't get hit with a third.
  2. The Score has been more than happy to report every bad thought about Larussa and dismiss any good ones that snuck onto the airwaves only because they were unexpected (Holliday, Kittle and Carrington come immediately to mind). I don't like the move but the Cubs' corporate partner is certainly doing its part to shape how it is viewed locally.
  3. somehow, i feel worse today about this than I did last week
  4. looking forward to the return of the mullett
  5. What did he nail...poor sentence structure? and yes, I do dislike him
  6. Let's also not forget that Jimmy denigrated all Sox wives/girlfriends on the air, saying something like that they were gold diggers and specifically calling them "horny broads", so there were some other for cause issued with Jimmy.
  7. JR wouldn't hire Collins for the Bulls a second time because he was overwhelmed by the thought of having to fire him again. I don't see why his line of thinking should have been different in this situation.
  8. I like all this talk about sincerity during Great Pumpkin season
  9. I know we have to have some media watchers on here who will join me in being a little skeptical of the hate for this move being issued by their Cubs radio partner
  10. They almost have to have a young person as a bench coach if they have any care about a succession plan. Not to have one would be unwise in this circumstance
  11. love it or hate it, what's done is done so I hope he is great
  12. he can bring in a slew of old cardinals just to further infuriate the cub media that has fomented the hate against this move
  13. Are we just going to assume that an owner who has been an industry leader in promoting diversity, a team that has had an african american as the in facto and de facto organizational decision maker for 20 years and a team that has had a minority field manager for 18 of the last 22 years has abandoned this long term commitment
  14. 76 trombones will lead the big world series parade next year, one for each year of his life
  15. and a reduced closer cost from Colome
  16. I wonder if they hire a younger guy (everybody is younger) like Jirschle to be the bench coach and manager in waiting
  17. I want to hate this but Bernstein hates it and I'll be damned if I'm going to be in a position of agreeing with him
  18. would be funny if he used Your Love as his walk up song Double order of bacon!
  19. I find it hard to believe that JR, a guy who has been a leader on diversity issues in MLB for decades, would actively pursue or even associate with someone he considers to have beliefs counter to the issue
  20. I would be upset if he were the only manager interviewed for the job. Take time. Interview multiple people. Hire the best.
  21. who was the last head coach with previous coaching experience who JR hired in either of his organizations? That probably collectively goes back decades. On the other hand, the Bulls just hired Billy Donovan so maybe JR is trying something new in his old age
  22. time to hound Bassitt and let him know we can ALSO hit righties
