Superstar Lamar

would be funny if he used Your Love as his walk up song Double order of bacon!

I find it hard to believe that JR, a guy who has been a leader on diversity issues in MLB for decades, would actively pursue or even associate with someone he considers to have beliefs counter to the issue

I would be upset if he were the only manager interviewed for the job. Take time. Interview multiple people. Hire the best.

Oh yeah, I forgot about his cup of coffee caretaking.

who was the last head coach with previous coaching experience who JR hired in either of his organizations? That probably collectively goes back decades. On the other hand, the Bulls just hired Billy Donovan so maybe JR is trying something new in his old age

I am pleased

time to hound Bassitt and let him know we can ALSO hit righties

I guess he hasn't learned his lesson about bringing in pitchers fresh off the injured list to face high leveraged situations

Hey, Hey, Hey...Go-ood Bye!

I wouldn't think Luzardo gets another round through the lineup

I think many here are severely overestimating what the market will think of McCann as a full time starting catcher

I would enjoy it much more if the Cubs imploded and didn't make the playoffs

The Madrigal world of Nicky

Yes. He will get going out of town at the end of the season

can't say it wasn't earned He has no path to being a starter on this club next year anyway so he might as well learn to relieve.

My expectation is that he will exceed expectations

I wouldn't mind if they pivoted and added a reliever in the last few hours.

Bulls are keeping Boylen, if that gives any indication about management's thoughts on 2021

I get the same feeling about him as I did when Frank Thomas first came up. It's entirely subject obviously but this just feels like the real thing. In an interesting parallel Frank played 60 MLB games in his rookie season

In related news, Nicky Delmonico will get his first professional start at 2B tonight

legit but inferior

Is Engle a superior defensive CF to Robert? If Mazara is out for a while, why not let Engle start in CF and give Robert the easier defensive assignment to ease into the MLB

Have foreign players been staying in the country since this began or did they go home. I would think it would be difficult to get back in right now.

I agree in that teams won't take on salary. I do think there will be a movement for the low paid, short term guys who fit a need.
