11 innings of shut out ball from.brave pitching. There was a chance to be 5 back at the break....Friday sale sucked and today offense sucks.

I've been thinking of the 1 to 2 run games and think they would have won more if they had acquired some other hitter this offseason and not just kept Garcia. I know he's a young player still but I still don't see his value. Hope they can come back in this one or at least keep pace as we enter into August. I doubt they'll get anyone at the deadline though.

Shields has pitched a great game, even including the two solo shots. He is only in the mid 80's for a pitch count through 7, even including the error and the misplay by Abreu that inning.

Amen to that, Abreu is just not himself this season. No power, slower than Konerko and scares me around first base.
