August 6, 20169 yr Alec Hansen 4.0 IP, 0H, 1BB, 8K. Dayuuuuuum. Joel Booker 2-2, HR. Alex Call, 1-3, HR, K. Zack Collins 1-3, K. Aaron Schnurbusch 1-2, 2B, K. http://mlbfarm.com/index.php?team=CWS&date=2016-08-05
August 6, 20169 yr Until a few others, Alex Hansen actually needs to be promoted. At least Kannapolis for the final month, if Collins is at Winston Salem and Burdi at Birmingham
August 6, 20169 yr Author Schnurbusch now 2-3, 2B, HR, K. Interesting note: Schnurbusch's BABIP coming into the game (will have risen) was an absurd .557 in 157 PA. The all-time MLB season BABIP leader with minimum 150 PA was Ross Barnes of the 1876 White Stockings with a .438 BABIP. Would be interested to know if Schnurbusch is chasing a MiLB record. August 6, 20169 yr This f***ing draft! Hansen is a boss. Wow. Collins, Burdi, Hansen. Future stud hitter, closer and ace.
August 6, 20169 yr QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Aug 5, 2016 -> 10:40 PM) Hansen 6.0 IP, 1H, 0R, 1BB, 11K. Night done. Promotion please. When the Sox said they saw something, they weren't kidding.
August 6, 20169 yr I mean what else can Hansen do at the rookie ball level? 26 2/3 IP 9 H 7 BB 0.60 WHIP 5 ER 1.69 ERA 43 K 14.51 K/9 2.36 BB/9 6.14 K:BB It would be so nice if he turned out to be an ace.
August 6, 20169 yr Props to the White Sox development staff for getting Hansen turned around. That is a very pleasant surprise. Edited August 6, 20169 yr by maxjusttyped
August 6, 20169 yr Hansen could be the biggest steal of the draft. Is there any video of him? Edited August 6, 20169 yr by BigHurt3515
August 6, 20169 yr QUOTE (maxjusttyped @ Aug 5, 2016 -> 10:16 PM) Too early to say Hansen is the Sox top pitching prospect? We should probably wait but I think he's firmly a top 100 guy at this time next year and the #1 or #2 prospect in the system.
August 6, 20169 yr To be fair, top college pitches should do well in rookie ball. Obviously it's a great sign that Hansen is torching the league with GF, but until he starts doing really well at W-S, I am not going to put him above Fulmer or maybe even Burdi, if Burdi can transition to a starter.
August 6, 20169 yr While everyone is ignoring Booker, I'll update you on his tear through the minors so far. Went 3/4 today with a 2B, HR, 3 RBI and a walk. Zangari had 3 doubles today with an RBI. Up to .271 on the year.
August 6, 20169 yr Hansen 6 IP 1 Hit 1 Walk 11 Ks Does he see AA this year? Edited August 6, 20169 yr by scs787
August 6, 20169 yr QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Aug 5, 2016 -> 11:22 PM) Zangari had 3 doubles today with an RBI. Up to .271 on the year. up to .207 on the year if you include the .166 at kannapolis.
August 6, 20169 yr QUOTE (scs787 @ Aug 6, 2016 -> 11:15 AM) Hansen 6 IP 1 Hit 1 Walk 11 Ks Does he see AA this year? Not a chance. QUOTE (Hatchetman @ Aug 6, 2016 -> 11:30 AM) up to .207 on the year if you include the .166 at kannapolis. Aren't you a ray of sunshine
August 6, 20169 yr QUOTE (maxjusttyped @ Aug 5, 2016 -> 10:01 PM) Props to the White Sox development staff for getting Hansen turned around. That is a very pleasant surprise. Don't go crazy on him yet. It is rookie ball where he should dominate.
August 6, 20169 yr QUOTE (ptatc @ Aug 6, 2016 -> 01:48 PM) Don't go crazy on him yet. It is rookie ball where he should dominate. It's not just about him dominating, it's also the fact he's barely walking anyone. Him being in rookie ball shouldn't take anything away from that.
August 6, 20169 yr QUOTE (ptatc @ Aug 6, 2016 -> 02:48 PM) Don't go crazy on him yet. It is rookie ball where he should dominate. The control is the major key. This is a guy who was getting rocked by college players earlier this year, to suddenly looking like the early favorite to go 1-1.
August 6, 20169 yr QUOTE (ptatc @ Aug 6, 2016 -> 01:48 PM) Don't go crazy on him yet. It is rookie ball where he should dominate. Nobody is going crazy. Problem with Soxtalk: Young players struggle in A ball and they automatically are bad picks. Young players do well in rookie ball and it's because it's rookie ball.
August 6, 20169 yr QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Aug 6, 2016 -> 03:02 PM) Nobody is going crazy. Problem with Soxtalk: Young players struggle in A ball and they automatically are bad picks. Young players do well in rookie ball and it's because it's rookie ball. Wanting to see him in AA is a bit crazy.
August 6, 20169 yr QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Aug 6, 2016 -> 02:02 PM) Nobody is going crazy. Problem with Soxtalk: Young players struggle in A ball and they automatically are bad picks. Young players do well in rookie ball and it's because it's rookie ball. I am reasonably excited about Hansen, the realist side of me feels that top prospects (almost 22 years old) are expected to dominate rookie ball. Edited August 6, 20169 yr by 2005thxfrthmmrs
