Any way we need to worry about Jacobs? Long bus ride might annoy our guys.

I think they’ll be fine.  Better to play the weaker team than Addison Trail.

I’m not positive but it looks like the only feed for the game may be through the IHSA site.  It looks like you can sign up for a month for $14 bucks and then cancel before the next month’s charge.

For those keeping score at home Lip Man is a BR alum as well.

  • To be fair their starting QB was out with injury, illness or something. I conveniently left that out, lol. Carmel looked like they had good pieces, it was one of those games that just went Rice's way

BR should be fine, but Jacobs is way better than AT.  AT played nobody and Jacobs losses are to really good teams for their classification.  Fenwick/Naz better not sleep on Burlington in the quarters/semis too.

I am not too familiar with Jacobs but their secondary got roasted numerous times by AT.  They don’t look all that impressive last week.

Looks like Hudl might have a free live stream of the BR @ Jacobs game:

If you have a smart TV, you can search for and install the “Hudl Fan” app and then search for either Brother Rice or Jacobs High School to find the live stream of the game for Saturday.  This is a screenshot of the “Hudl Fan” app from my phone:

Both Fenwick (my HS) and Downers Grove North are playing at the same time on Saturday at 1 PM.  My son played with DGN QB Owen Lansu on the Downers Grove Panthers (BGYFL) with his dad as the coach.  So I’ll have two TV’s going for both separate game streams.  😀

Jacobs plays in one of the better conferences in the state.  Just about all of the teams play really good football.

What’s everyone’s High school playoff games this weekend?  I got Batavia(8-2) vs Glenbard East(9-1)

Michigan City (7-3) vs LaPorte (4-6) for Sectional 10 championship.

Batavia wins 42-21, off to face the winner of Moline and Glenbard North in Quarterfinals

32-0 Brother Rice over Jacobs at halftime.

46-0 BR final.

Could be Batavia vs Brother Rice in 2 weeks

Yep.  Watching Carmel Catholic at St. Charles North right now.  The winner plays Brother Rice next week.

Nice win today. We pounded Jacobs. This isn't hyperbole and not meant to jinx Rice but we've never had a team potentially this good. It's destroying its first two playoff foes. Can we beat Carmel and/or St. Charles North? Are they any good? Good records? A Rita-Rice final would be insane. I would probably prefer not playing them. We've played them so often they won't be afraid of us. I love the makeup of this Rice team with the major college guys in the correct positions to best influence victories. The weather is turning and mabe we're built for the cold with our linemen. Please give me any info about Rice's chances next week.

St. Charles North won so it will be them.  I don’t really know anything about them but MaxPreps has them ranked 33rd in Illinois.

I would love to see BR face Rita in a state championship.  They are not as good this year as they usually are and just eked out their two playoff wins so far.  BR beat them 24-10 earlier this season.

I do know we clobbered Rita, but never underestimate what happens in rematches in the playoffs (except when you play Mt. Carmel twice, they'll rout a team both times).

Little worried about St. Chuck. They are ranked 10th in Sun Times. Glad the game is at Rice. We need a big loud crowd. Being on a Saturday it'll probably be a smallish crowd. Hope the guys stay focused and keep it rolling.

Sweet ... what is your son's mood? Does he act as if the team is hungry? Are u concerned about our next foe? What is team morale like? are we healthy?

He thinks he and his team can absolutely s%*# on and beat any team until the game is actually decided.  He was only wrong about Mount Carmel this year.  😡  He was talking about beating up on Owen Lansu and his Downers Grove buddies in two weeks if they beat SC North next week.  The team survived the slip and slide against Jacobs and is healthy.

I haven't been able to watch as many games this year. Saw some early. So I ask ... how is our quarterback? Does he run well? Throw great? What's the key to us putting up all these points?

What's up with the defense? Hard hitters? Size? Pass rushers or d-backs cover well.

If we ever are to lose what will be our downfall? Go Rice.

CJ Gray can both run and pass.  He was originally a much better runner than passer in his freshman and sophomore years but his passing has greatly improved the past two years.  He committed to Army.

The key to BR putting up so many points is a stellar D that gives the team turnovers and great field position.  They have good WR’s in Jovan Green (South Dakota State), Lucas Strang, along with TE Jack McNamara for the passing game but they also have a healthy and really good OL, to go along with two good RB’s in Jaylin Green and Jameson Davis.

Meanwhile, their DL is loaded with top recruits/commits — DE King Liggins (Illinois), DT Brayden Parks, CB Emeir White (South Dakota State), and EDGE Kameron McGee.

I think their downfall would be facing off against a team with a defense as good as their own, like a Mount Carmel.  But BR has as good of a shot as any school left in 7A.

If Mt Carmel wins 8A that will be as difficult a road as I recall

Loyola

8 hour bus ride to Bellview or wherever it was

LWE

Fremd - QB is all that and LWE will show them some things

Barrington or Maine South

That is an insane path

Fuggem.  I hope they lose.  😀😉
