October 30, 20169 yr I agree that there is nothing wrong with sending Miller out for 2 after just 7 pitches. I just wonder why they need him for 2 innings. Why not have another reliever pitch the 7th and Miller the 8th? Oh well, it should work out either way, anyway.
October 30, 20169 yr Gotta believe you let Otero pitch the 9th with Allen there to back him up if he lets 2 runners on base. Edited October 30, 20169 yr by chw42
October 30, 20169 yr Assuming you pitch Bauer tomorrow, and Lester pitches well, there is a good chance you don't need Miller again until Tuesday evening.
October 30, 20169 yr QUOTE (iamshack @ Oct 29, 2016 -> 09:07 PM) Assuming you pitch Bauer tomorrow, and Lester pitches well, there is a good chance you don't need Miller again until Tuesday evening. Yep, Salazar and Merritt are up first to reliever Bauer...depending on what part of the lineup is due. That also gives Francona additional insight into who he can trust if Tomlin gets in trouble during potential Game 6. Edited October 30, 20169 yr by caulfield12
October 30, 20169 yr QUOTE (Soxfest @ Oct 29, 2016 -> 10:11 PM) I want it to end Sunday at Wrigley that would be sweet. With shots of Cubs fans looking depressed and their face in their hands? Yes please.
October 30, 20169 yr No matter what, winning 2/2 at Wrigley was one more than ANYONE predicted...counting the Lester game as an automatic victory, not sure how prudent that is.
October 30, 20169 yr QUOTE (iamshack @ Oct 29, 2016 -> 10:07 PM) Assuming you pitch Bauer tomorrow, and Lester pitches well, there is a good chance you don't need Miller again until Tuesday evening. If the Indians have a lead in the 7th inning tomorrow, its one inning. Go win the world series.
October 30, 20169 yr The blueprint of peppering the Cubs with tons of offspeed pitches will be emulated throughout MLB as a counterstrategy.
October 30, 20169 yr QUOTE (chw42 @ Oct 29, 2016 -> 10:25 PM) God it kills me that we could have had Francona as manager instead of Robin. Lol...I literally said the same thing to a buddy 30 minutes ago. But hey, the White Sox are gonna White Sox.
October 30, 20169 yr QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Oct 29, 2016 -> 10:27 PM) Lol...I literally said the same thing to a buddy 30 minutes ago. But hey, the White Sox are gonna White Sox. I'm sure Tito would have gotten a playoff appearance out of this team at least once or twice in the past 5 years.
October 30, 20169 yr Not sure he was ready after 2011. That one season with ESPN seemed to really revitalize him and rekindle his love of managing.
October 30, 20169 yr Look at these bandwagon fans in the streets cheering and smiling. I'd be sick to my stomach.
