May 10, 20178 yr Not a very interesting day on the mound for the farm. Scoreboard Two games starting now (10AM) Charlotte at Indianapolis - Volstad starting Birmingham at Pensacola - Guerrero starting Winston Salem vs Myrtle Beach (DH) - McRee starting game 1, Beatty starting game 2 Kannapolis at Augusta - Solorzano starting Edited May 10, 20178 yr by joejoedairy
May 10, 20178 yr QUOTE (raBBit @ May 10, 2017 -> 10:45 AM) Charlotte is @ 11 and W-S game 1 is @ 11. They are both at 10am Central, underway now.
May 10, 20178 yr Just as you'd expect, Burdi is continuing to dominate in Charlotte. It won't happen due to injuries and likely trades, but a bullpen with Robertson, Jones, Kahnle, Swarzak, Putnam, and Burdi would just be completely ridiculous.
May 10, 20178 yr Not to mention one of Fulmer, Lopez, Giolito, Kopech and Hansen, if not two. Maybe Adams amps up his velocity in short bursts, etc. Still need a dominant lefty like a Radinsky, Cotts in 2005, Marte, Thornton.
May 10, 20178 yr QUOTE (maxjusttyped @ May 10, 2017 -> 03:44 PM) Just as you'd expect, Burdi is continuing to dominate in Charlotte. It won't happen due to injuries and likely trades, but a bullpen with Robertson, Jones, Kahnle, Swarzak, Putnam, and Burdi would just be completely ridiculous. The times where it has felt the sox have overachieved they have had a dominant pen. IMO the acceleration of results from our rebuild will be if our pen is not a Reds like disaster (or a 2014 pen)
May 11, 20178 yr The thing about Adolfo is back before everyone and their mother was an at-home scout, nobody would know these guys until they were 20 and in full season ball. He's right where he's supposed to be for his age, and now it's time for him to climb the ladder the next few years.
May 11, 20178 yr Hopefully Jordan Guerrero has figured something out. Looks like he's on his way to another very good start.
May 11, 20178 yr QUOTE (flavum @ May 10, 2017 -> 07:38 PM) Hopefully Jordan Guerrero has figured something out. Looks like he's on his way to another very good start. It was talked about his last start but he was just having some ridiculously terrible luck. His fip has been stupid low all year.
May 11, 20178 yr Micker Adolfo is the next Luis Robert, minus the speed. I guess that's one way to spin a non-signing disappointment. And saving $50-60 million. Hopefully they put it in Berkshire-Hathaway A shares and get the historical 20.63% ROI. Edited May 11, 20178 yr by caulfield12
May 11, 20178 yr 10th inning RBI double for Mitch Roman. Nice season. Edited May 11, 20178 yr by flavum
May 11, 20178 yr The Coastal Carolina guys- Remillard and Morrison- also having good seasons for Kanny.
May 11, 20178 yr QUOTE (flavum @ May 10, 2017 -> 06:24 PM) The thing about Adolfo is back before everyone and their mother was an at-home scout, nobody would know these guys until they were 20 and in full season ball. He's right where he's supposed to be for his age, and now it's time for him to climb the ladder the next few years. You're right. If we sign Robert and stick him at Kanny next year, and if he puts up these same Adolfo numbers by May 11th, this board would be jumping. Of course, on May 1st, just 10 days ago, Micker's numbers were very pedestrian.
May 11, 20178 yr QUOTE (fathom @ May 10, 2017 -> 07:08 PM) Adolfo...you have my attention 12 game hitting streak.
