It means the amputation went well.

It's a damn shame that a significant amount of MLB development time (and service time) is going to be wasted on this. If he ends up needing to go under the knife, its going to be very disappointing that it wasn't handled earlier.

 

Obviously hoping that isn't the case and he is back in the rotation for good in a few weeks. I can only take so many more Pelfrey/ Covey starts.

Eh, if there's one thing this org deserves the benefit of the doubt on it's keeping pitchers healthy. Look at all the "rushed back from a soft tissue injury and then more seriously injured himself" (Britton, Thor) cases we've had already this year.

Lol. It would be sad and exciting at the same if his amputation were coupled with a transplant of Jamie Moyer's soft tossing, rubber arm.

I am not really suggesting they should have rushed him back. I am moreso suggesting that no one really know what the issue with Rodon has been dating back to ST, and if he ends up not pitching in ML this year and undergoes a surgery that eats in next year, it'll be a damn shame it wasn't just taken care of right away.

 

The Sox completely deserve the benefit of the doubt when it comes to pitchers. Its just a shame our prized jewel hasn't pitched this year and no one really knows why. His clock is a'tickin'.

Not sure we are going to get a lot of info. Hahn seems to be meeting with media once a week so maybe next week.

The snap of the towel teaches too much stress for the elbow for one. The other is the focus on extension decreases the motion of the spine and thus they lose the transmission of the power the lower extremities generate.

 

I know it worked for for Nolan Ryan but I think his abilities were as much genetics as it was the training and i don't think everyone can tolerate the same training he did.

I wonder if we'll have a Rodon sighting when the teams in Arizona and / or hear anything from him.

GLENDALE, Ariz. -- White Sox left-hander Carlos Rodon moved a step closer to getting into game action on Tuesday (March 16th), throwing 64 pitches in his first simulated game of the spring.

 

Rodon faced White Sox Minor Leaguers on a back field at Camelback Ranch, pitching from both a full windup and from the stretch.

 

"Rody did a really nice job," manager Rick Renteria said. "He was working on fastball and changeup the first round, working on fastball command. He mixed in some cutters and some sliders. His ball has tremendous life. Nothing against the kids who were hitting against him, but we saw a lot of balls in the cage."

 

Rodon might have one more simulated game before getting into Cactus League action, according to Renteria, though the White Sox southpaw is raring to return.

 

"I just want to get in a game," Rodon said. "Just to pitch to those guys, get in the game and pitch."

 

The White Sox are easing Rodon into action this spring, although it is not injury related.
