Shields rather fortunate to lower ERA to 1.53....second lucky bounce in Sox favor this series.

I am watching the game I MLB Extra Innings. Shields looking pretty good

Has them completely off balance

Shields may be looking good, but our batters are not.

Mixing in knuckle curve, eephus, lots of offspeed stuff vs. 90-91 mph FB.

Stop moving Anderson up in the order

Sox are playing good baseball.

Frazier's botched DP ball turns in to a run. Should be 2 outs, runner on 1st, 0 runs.

That Abreu AB was so professional. Really fun to watch, and he bailed out Renteria again.

 

I don't care where he is in the order, Melky Cabrera should never bunt with RISP and nobody out.

Shields got hit so hard that last half inning. Holding Jays to one run was a miracle.

Definitely. When you have pitchers as lousy as Shields you get five innings out of him somehow, that's enough.

Yep hars hit balls and pitch count over 80. Had a chance to get him out of there with the lead and positive momentum.

Pitching coaches and managers will always let the veterans have their way and stay in the game too long. Six innings would have been a nice outing for Shields and they wanted him to have six even though he was horrid in the fifth and sixth.

Rooting for a loss but 1 run vs 3 runs looks a lot better for Shields value
