July 1, 20178 yr Josue Guerrero finally got his average over up over .200. Robert 0/1 with a k, game suspended early.
July 1, 20178 yr QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 1, 2017 -> 10:39 PM) Hansen facing a team with boatload of hitting prospects Either Hansen does not hold runners well or Zavala has trouble throwing them out. A ton of steals already for the opponent.
July 1, 20178 yr QUOTE (MnSoxFan @ Jul 1, 2017 -> 10:30 PM) Either Hansen does not hold runners well or Zavala has trouble throwing them out. A ton of steals already for the opponent. Can't hold runners on. He's even said he's focusing on the batters.
July 1, 20178 yr Winston-Salem DashVerified account @WSDashBaseball Following More Good start from Alec Hansen: 5IP, 1R, 4H, 3BB, 5K, 86 pitches. He is in line for the victory! Drew Hasler in for B6. #YourHomeTeam
July 1, 20178 yr Hansen should be a top 60 level prospect. If he was drafted high last year like he was projected heading into the year, he would be top 20 with ease.
July 1, 20178 yr https://www.milb.com/milb/news/houston-astr...mes/c-239861954 Astros' Paulino suspended for 80 games, PEDs. Boldenone. Dash bullpen blew 5-0 lead and Hansen's win... Fulmer start about to begin after rain delay. Edited July 2, 20178 yr by caulfield12

Just an interesting notes on the players taken before Hansen in last years draft based on their results & stuff you could make the case for putting both Hansen & Dunning in the 60ish range post deadline update.

Hansen & Dunning are pitching nearly as well as the top couple guys in the draft. Honestly, both guys could get looks at Birmingham later this season and push for major league jobs as soon as late 2018.
July 2, 20178 yr QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 1, 2017 -> 05:44 PM) Can't hold runners on. He's even said he's focusing on the batters. From his time in Kanny, look at the SB/CS stats for Zavala. With Hansen he gave up something like 25 or 30 SB and caught 2. With all other pitchers he worked with, he was throwing out nearly half. That should tell you what you need to know.
July 2, 20178 yr Mendick should get a shot at AA. It's not like Birmingham has any productive hitters blocking him. Edited July 2, 20178 yr by Dam8610
July 2, 20178 yr QUOTE (Dam8610 @ Jul 1, 2017 -> 10:21 PM) Mendick should get a shot at AA. It's not like Birmingham has any productive hitters blocking him. Sox still have some belief in Jake Peter, and want to give Alvarez some time. One of them will go to Charlotte this year, probably Alvarez who's been getting gradually better (Peter has really been struggling). Once one of them moves up, Mendick will too.

July 2, 20178 yr Fulmer looked really good yesterday. Did a great job changing speeds (88-95 on fastball) and threw some nasty sliders. Looked like he got squeezed at times. First time I've seen him pitch in a while, but left me feeling optimistic on him.
