August 8, 20178 yr We all pretty much assumed this would be the case when Rick made those comments but it's confirmed now. First of the top flight pitching spects to get the call. Should be fun.
August 8, 20178 yr http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2017/08/08/whi...reynaldo-lopez/ Pelfs to pen (would personally prefer Shields, but whatever. Contract influence I suppose) Will definitely be watching Friday's game.
August 8, 20178 yr QUOTE (Scoots @ Aug 8, 2017 -> 04:23 PM) http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2017/08/08/whi...reynaldo-lopez/ Pelfs to pen (would personally prefer Shields, but whatever. Contract influence I suppose) Will definitely be watching Friday's game. Pelfrey basically has once, maybe twice through the order before he melts down anyway. He might as well be a reliever.

August 8, 20178 yr QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Aug 8, 2017 -> 04:43 PM) No mention of who gets sent down. Infante or Minaya? May as well just waive Infante. He has no future with this organization. Minaya is at least younger and mildly interesting.
August 8, 20178 yr Goldberg was the last guy up, no? I would imagine he is the next guy out. What I wonder is who moves up to AAA.
August 8, 20178 yr QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 8, 2017 -> 09:56 PM) Goldberg was the last guy up, no? I would imagine he is the next guy out. What I wonder is who moves up to AAA. I reckon Goldberg could be the one going down to AAA but if Lopez is in fact coming up and someone goes to AAA they are taking his spot. How many players are allowed on a minor league team? I always just assumed it was 25. Anyway we are starting to see some moves Edited August 8, 20178 yr by elrockinMT
August 8, 20178 yr QUOTE (Knuckles @ Aug 8, 2017 -> 05:53 PM) Can anyone predict a starter for Saturday at Tex Rangers? Saturday 8/19 would be Derek Holland barring any changes. Lines up Holland/Gonzalez/Rodon/Lopez/Shields currently
August 9, 20178 yr QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 8, 2017 -> 09:56 PM) Goldberg was the last guy up, no? I would imagine he is the next guy out. What I wonder is who moves up to AAA. I take it back. I think Bummer was the last one called up
August 9, 20178 yr QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ Aug 8, 2017 -> 09:52 PM) Any word if Kopech goes to Charlotte to take his place? I'm assuming Kopech or Stephens to Charlotte, and Dunning or Hansen to AA.
August 9, 20178 yr Might as well get rid of Volstad while they're at it. No reason he should be taking starts away from Stephens or Guerrero.
August 9, 20178 yr QUOTE (bjm676 @ Aug 9, 2017 -> 10:56 AM) Might as well get rid of Volstad while they're at it. No reason he should be taking starts away from Stephens or Guerrero. My guess is because he is still there, they aren't in a big hurry to move guys up. If they were, they would have made space a long time ago.
August 9, 20178 yr Author QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ Aug 8, 2017 -> 09:52 PM) Any word if Kopech goes to Charlotte to take his place? Kopech probably doesn't have a lot of starts left this season so I don't think they'll call him up for a start or two but who knows. Guessing he gets a few more starts in Bham this year then gets shut down then starts 2018 in Charlotte. Edited August 9, 20178 yr by Rowand44

August 11, 20178 yr Interestingly enough Stephens and Hansen also scheduled to start tonight. I am mildly surprised neither of them are getting promoted.
