August 10, 20178 yr Charlotte plays here at Lehigh Valley tonight. I'll be working, but I should be able to get a few innings in mostly uninterrupted. We (the IronPigs) need a win to stay in the playoff picture, but I wouldn't mind getting shut down tonight Also, they just called Rhys Hoskins up, so that's good for Lucas, haha. August 10, 20178 yr Kanny was down 4 runs in the bottom of the 1st before Micker walked to the plate, the game is now tied. He's hitting cleanup with Call, Rutherford and Burger ahead of him.
August 10, 20178 yr QUOTE (Kalapse @ Aug 10, 2017 -> 06:48 PM) Kanny was down 4 runs in the bottom of the 1st before Micker walked to the plate, the game is now tied. He's hitting cleanup with Call, Rutherford and Burger ahead of him. He may never develop the plate discipline to make it. But on the other hand he could be an absolute monster. Guy is seriously imposing in the box, hard to believe he's 20.
August 10, 20178 yr If it were over a year ago, he would have been a top 5 prospect for the White Sox.
August 11, 20178 yr Giolito's curveball is just mystifying guys, but the fastball is getting hit hard or is just straight missing, usually high. Second curve he threw against Kingery achieved the rareified "swinging strike/hit batter"
August 11, 20178 yr You wouldn't believe how many people are wearing Cody Asche jerseys tonight in Allentown. He must have been a stud when he was here.
August 11, 20178 yr QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Aug 10, 2017 -> 06:32 PM) Alex Call is hitting .344 over his last 11 days (including tonights 1 for 1). I'm hoping they bump him up to Winston-Salem once Jimenez gets promoted.
August 11, 20178 yr Gavin Sheets hit a bomb. Burger is 2 for 2. Not sure why I ever found Skoug interesting. Apparently scouts saw something that dropped him to round 7.
August 11, 20178 yr QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Aug 10, 2017 -> 07:33 PM) Seby went long ball again... I'm really hoping we have something in Zavala. I know he's on the old end, even for high A, but as a catcher that's far less of an issue for me. Unfortunately, I haven't seen much on his tools or defense to know if there is a reason to be optimistic, but damn are his offensive numbers impressive.
August 11, 20178 yr I mean it's a sample size and all but this dude is putting up an ops of over .1100 in 25 games with us now. This isn't a 5 game streak. f***in incredible. Edited August 11, 20178 yr by Rowand44
August 11, 20178 yr QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Aug 11, 2017 -> 01:49 AM) I mean it's a sample size and all but this dude is putting up an ops of over .1100 in 25 games with us now. This isn't a 5 game streak. f***in incredible. And he's been robbed of maybe 3 more homers due to a super high fence
August 11, 20178 yr QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Aug 10, 2017 -> 07:33 PM) Seby went long ball again... He is becoming one of my favorite prospects of the non "top" prospects
August 11, 20178 yr Had to put Boesch's twitter quote in my sig. And from all accounts, he's not the only one who feels that way.
August 11, 20178 yr Maybe he's not the best overall prospect in the game but is it safe to say that Eloy has the highest ceiling as a hitter of anyone in the minors?
