Holland/Shields/Gonzalez clear waivers

Featured Replies

Surprised nobody claimed MiGo. Was hoping he could land on a contender to get a chance at the post season.

MiGo will still be traded. Dan Hayes said he was 100 pct sure

Yeah, especially after that strong performance in LA. Maybe an NL contender will take him. Nats are down a few starters from injuries no?

There are a lot of really bad pitchers on contending teams right now, he'd be an upgrade for somebody. I'd be surprised if he didn't go.

Cubs may need him.

Did they pass him through while he was on the DL or just after he came off?

An I right in thinking that since they cleared waivers with no specific team claiming them they still can be traded and now that means to any team

That is correct though typically if a team wanted a player they would claim them.

There continues to be less interest in Gonzalez than I expect.

I would not mind if we resigned him. He is a good back-of-the-rotation veteran who appears to be good in the clubhouse. And he would be cheap.

I tend to agree with you. I guess the only thing us how many young pitchers are we expecting to get the call in 2018

Migo last 3 starts vs 3 top 5 offenses: 20 IP, 2-0, 0.90 ERA, 1.10 WHIP

Someone trade for this man.

No thanks. He's 33. We need to collect as many youthful assets as possible.

If nobody wants him you can't force people to give u an asset. My post was based on him not going anywhere because nobody wants him. He can help a young staff next year

Then that's different. Yeah, if nobody wants to give up anything then fine.

So Big Game Miguel. Not quite the same ring to it as Big Game James but if you have a twitter it needs to be spread to all contending teams.
