Ongoing storm disaster thread

The Oregon wildfires choking the Columbia River Gorge are pretty bad. We hiked back along Eagle Creek, where the fires starts, just last summer. Beautiful area that's going to be completely changed now.

Half of Montana's burning down, too, including Glacier NP. They lost the historic Sperry Chalet last week, and now the Lake McDonald lodge is being threatened.

This is just terrible.

we just got back from vacation in South Florida. Good timing on my part. I hope everyone else down there can evacuate as well.

We're within the window where the models get pretty accurate. This looks extremely bad for southern Florida.

It looks bad for the entire state. It's looks like it will be blown to smithereens.

That angle is the absolute worst as it puts Miami into the NE quadrant, that is where the worst surges, winds and banding will occur.

As someone who has lost everything in a disaster before, send anything you can. Even when the waters recede and the storm passes, you are left with absolutely nothing. Every tiny bit helps.

There's a lawsuit against Arkema, the company that owns that chemical plant in Texas that was in danger of a major explosion. Throughout the whole ordeal, they refused to disclose what was actually onsite and how much, citing terrorism concerns.

I wonder how this will affect Disney World.

Should we ask Alexiyeees if we should send stuff first?

Let's try to keep this thread away from the filibuster please.

I hope all of our florida posters were able to evacuate and their homes and businesses avoid major damage.

National Hurricane Center's latest model run is in agreement with the earlier Euro model--straight up the peninsula. And hurricane-force winds in Atlanta.

And let us know if you need anything

Yikes. I don't know about you all but this looks like it could be something that will be not good.

As of right now the highways are apparently a disaster on their own. The roads may simply not be able to deal with all the people who want to drive out before Saturday.

Took my parents 12 hours to drive from Orlando to Atlanta today.
