September 7, 20178 yr The Oregon wildfires choking the Columbia River Gorge are pretty bad. We hiked back along Eagle Creek, where the fires starts, just last summer. Beautiful area that's going to be completely changed now. Half of Montana's burning down, too, including Glacier NP. They lost the historic Sperry Chalet last week, and now the Lake McDonald lodge is being threatened.

Throughout the whole ordeal, they refused to disclose what was actually onsite and how much, citing terrorism concerns. Arkema has been sued for explosions on its site during #Harvey. The roads may simply not be able to deal with all the people who want to drive out before Saturday.
