Harry Chappas
Looks pretty balanced throughout only one long road trip Milwaukee at home sucks but at Pittsburgh and St Louis
TheTruth05
Schedule doesn't look too harsh this time around. I can definitely see them surprising some people and being in the WC hunt.
flavum
They never go to Minnesota on a summer weekend...or it's been a while.
jenksycat
Sox vs Cubs in late September seems odd.
TheTruth05
Also what's the point of having the home opener on a Thursday and giving Friday off? seems real odd.
jenksycat
QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Sep 12, 2017 -> 11:20 AM) Also what's the point of having the home opener on a Thursday and giving Friday off? seems real odd. So if there's a rainout and they want to screw fans over like they did this year they can.

They do that every year in case the first day gets rained out
TheTruth05
Huh...never noticed I guess. That post ASB west coast trip seems like it's gonna be one of the tougher trips next year.
Harry Chappas
I'm in Michigan for family vacation the week of that west coast trip...that's some nice late night entertainment
flavum
With the extra four days, there are 27 weekends. The Sox start and finish on the road, but they get the extra weekend series. 14 weekends out of 25.
joejoedairy
QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Sep 12, 2017 -> 11:12 AM) Looks pretty balanced throughout only one long road trip Milwaukee at home sucks but at Pittsburgh and St Louis I wish Pittsburgh or STL was a weekend series. Alas, I'll probably go to Minn for either the April or Sept series. seems like a lot of 4 game series

flavum
20 off days besides the four day break, and they still have a stretch of 33 games in 34 days. June 5 - July 8. Scheduling 2,430 games for 30 teams is a tough thing.
flavum
Quirky Royals scheduling next year... 2 of the first 5 weekends are in KC. The Royals don't play the Sox in Chicago until July 13, and they play their last game in Chicago on August 19.
flavum
Sox go to Detroit back to back weeks in August. That's goofy.
ScootsMcGoots
Finally. Glad they brought back the crosstown games on the weekends. I thought having 4 games Mon-Thu was stupid. Still not sure why they are doing it in May/Sept and not during June July or August. Just seems odd. But, now I can finally go to one after not being able to since 2013. Maybe it was 2014...i just remember it was at Wrigley with my buddy who is a Cubs fan, and the Cubs sucked that year. I remember telling him that Gordan Beckham was the worst player on the team and such a huge disappointment, and he had a career game that night. It was awesome. My friend hates Gordan Beckham now hahaha.
Dick Allen
Every 3 years they will play the Cubs 6 times. It's when they play the NLC.
