2017-2018 MLB player movement rumors and reports

Think Adam Eaton package.

I think it will be lower. The Marlins are desperate to get rid of salary and teams know that and that's why all of their returns have been underwhelming. Also the Eaton trade is widely considered to be overpay so even if they had the same value it would probably be less.

Rosenthal saying Kinsler to Angels

QUOTE (KagakuOtoko @ Dec 13, 2017 -> 05:01 PM)
Good lord. Seriously?

I would think so, because, in my opinion, I think Yelich is the better player than Eaton. Although, the Marlins are desperate and desperation causes short sales.

I don't know if the Cardinals targeted the A's or if it was just a coincidence, but it's going to be nice for Piscotty to go to Oakland. He is from the Bay Area and earlier this year his mother was diagnosed with ALS.

Thats awesome. Somethings are more important than making sure you get all you can from a player. Classy move by the organization.

Good on them. Classy move. Sometimes sports just aren’t all about business.

Reports have Steve Cishek signing with Cubs

1b and even 1b? Well then. I don't think even I saw that coming, having him play 1b twice in the same game.

Teams actually think he can play 2B (that was a type which Im sure you are aware).

I figured it was a typo but had no idea someone thought he could play 2b.

Glad a team that could be interested in Abreu didn't sign him (Red Sox, Cardinals, Rockies, other?). Hopefully Hosmer signs with the Padres as rumored.

That deal probably helps Abreu's valuation on the trade market.

Angels sign Zack Cozart. Should have done that before the Kinsler move and had him play 2B.

It also increases the cost of an Abreu extension.

The deal is very similar to the Edwin deal.

Listening to Hahn on the White Sox Talk podcast, it doesn't sound like they are in any rush to extend him

And Edwin was the far superior player.

Thinking the same thing with SD and Hosmer.

This is a nice little deal for the Phillies. 3 years to a 31 year old with Santana's numbers is very reasonable.

This deal really helps the market for other sluggers at the $20 million per valuation. Hosmer now absolutely will be looking for $150+ million.

I know you all love my Cubs rumors, but supposedly they are strong contenders for Yu
