April 18, 20187 yr Having seen Adolfo in person several times, He reminds me Gregory Polanco (who I've also seen in person on the same team as Alen Hanson and Willy Garcia)
April 18, 20187 yr Love seeing guys that are not thought of often like Remillard and Roman raking, even Michalczewski is off to a great start (about time), only 23 in AA
April 18, 20187 yr Rutherford with three doubles today. That’s seven in 47 plate appearances (1 per 6.7). He averaged one every 17.6 plate appearances last year.
April 18, 20187 yr QUOTE (ChiSoxJon @ Apr 18, 2018 -> 01:20 PM) Why do all these highly regarded arms have control issues? Lopez, Kopech, Cease, etc. Velocity.
April 18, 20187 yr When do publications start taking Zavala seriously as an offensive prospect? I know he’s somewhat older for a prospect, but the dude has hit at every level. His numbers so far at AA are ridiculous and he’s only improved them today with a 2/3 performance with a 2B. Even if he can’t catch, he may very well have a future at 1B/DH.
April 18, 20187 yr QUOTE (joejoedairy @ Apr 18, 2018 -> 11:43 AM) Stephens struck out the side in the first. Would be nice to get a good start from him. No Walks, 7 Ks in 6 innings. 4 ER though so his ERA stays above 6.
April 18, 20187 yr QUOTE (joejoedairy @ Apr 18, 2018 -> 01:38 PM) No Walks, 7 Ks in 6 innings. 4 ER though so his ERA stays above 6. Looks like he got hit around hard though with 4 2B & a HR allowed.
April 18, 20187 yr 9/30 on the MLB Sox Top 30 are currently on the DL What s*** luck Imagine if this system had Robert, Jimenez, Burger, and Curbelo all raking with Hansen and Burdi chucking?
April 18, 20187 yr QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Apr 18, 2018 -> 01:36 PM) When do publications start taking Zavala seriously as an offensive prospect? I know he’s somewhat older for a prospect, but the dude has hit at every level. His numbers so far at AA are ridiculous and he’s only improved them today with a 2/3 performance with a 2B. Even if he can’t catch, he may very well have a future at 1B/DH. To be fair, I wouldn't even say Zavala is older for a prospect, as minor league catchers generally are older than the league average anyway.
April 18, 20187 yr QUOTE (ChiSoxJon @ Apr 18, 2018 -> 01:20 PM) Why do all these highly regarded arms have control issues? Lopez, Kopech, Cease, etc. My guess is that guy who can throw that hard are more worried about throwing hard than mechanics and control, so they sacrifice those for speed.
April 18, 20187 yr QUOTE (ChiSoxJon @ Apr 18, 2018 -> 01:20 PM) Why do all these highly regarded arms have control issues? Lopez, Kopech, Cease, etc. Throwing a baseball with movement and speed to a small area 60 ft away is difficult.
April 18, 20187 yr QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Apr 18, 2018 -> 12:40 PM) Looks like he got hit around hard though with 4 2B & a HR allowed. the HR was an inside the park HR. also heard there was a bunch of defensive "errors" that don't show up on stat sheet based off twitter reports but ruin the ER
April 19, 20187 yr We have reached the point where Winston-Salem starts by Dunning/Cease with the full line-up (and eventually Luis Robert) are more compelling viewing than anything the White Sox will put on the field prior to the arrivals of Kopech and Jimenez.
April 19, 20187 yr Were all 3 of Rutherford's doubles, legitimate? Did he hit the ball hard? If so, he is definitely off to a good start.

April 19, 20187 yr QUOTE (Lillian @ Apr 18, 2018 -> 08:29 PM) Were all 3 of Rutherford's doubles, legitimate? Did he hit the ball hard? If so, he is definitely off to a good start. One definitely was close to being a home run...hit off the wall or single-bounced against it. Edited April 19, 20187 yr by caulfield12
