He's got to figure something out quickly because there are pitchers performing in the minors that are itching to take his spot. It wouldn't shock me in the least if he got traded for a hitter that is a reclamation project as well.

Cool show me a 23 yr old hitter who you can call a reclamation project because you are just being crazy now.

The best part about Giolito is that we can criticize him without some idiot claiming racism.

  • Giolito is having a disaster of a season. Any time Cooper wants to work his magic again,  be my guess

Not touching that with a dead horse.

This defense just isn't good this year. Our pitchers clearly suck this year, but the defense hasn't exactly bailed them out

I'm just wondering what people think we should do with him at this point.

If the Sox think he should start he should start. Easy. Not enough starting pitching depth now to send him to the minors. Well I suppose there's always Covey again or that other older guy they got in Charlotte,

I was thinking someone like the guy playing 3B for the Pirates tonight. might be 24 or 25, but Giolito will be 24 himself in July.

It's almost like we're bad.

Hanging way too many offspeed pitches ahead in the count

Defense wasn't supposed to be this poor

Also interesting is Giolito is still one of 2 pitchers in the majors with a K/BB ratio less than 1. That is reserved for only the worst performing pitchers in the game.

I chuckled

Very true. It seems even Yolmer's errors have been badly timed and bad brainfarts from him, and I think we'd agree he's probably our best defender.

Gio has been garbage in every start this season. A long way from people penciling him in as a sure fire #2. He needs to go back to the minors until he gets his mojo back. If he doesn't, then we pray someone else can step up.

And they were some damn awful posts

For comparison's sake, Lucas is the same age as our starter in Winston-Salem tonight.

Cooler Heads prevail.

Gio is a lot like the guy who was just pitching against the Sox - a tall right handed former top prospect with control issues and trouble repeating his delivery.

He was pretty good in his last start minus the last inning

Really ?

Clearly this is the right one then, ?

My biggest complaint with our starting staff is having to turn it over to the pen at this point of the game.

Nice pitch to Marte
