Hey. A reason to check the CHA box score!

Rutherford RBI single drives in Call...

It seems like Winston-Salem is always playing Down East or Blues Creek.

Flores has been (pretty) quietly having a very nice season...era in the mid 2’s.

All the focus on that team has been with Cease, the five outfielders and Sheets.

So who homers first this year, Engel or Sheets?

Eloy in MLB

I will definitely go with Sheets in that contest...although you never know, Engel could accidentally run into one before he joins the Jamey Carroll Lifetime Cushy MLB Pension Club.

I think Stephens is going to wind up being that surprise prospect that ends up in the starting rotation. He's been looking really good so far.

Getting a surprise mid-rotation starter out of a guy like Stephens would be a huge boost to the rebuild.

A few years ago at Soxfest, Nick Capra, then a minor league guy, maybe the director, was asked for a sleeper. He mentioned Stephens. He said he thought he as just as good as Fulmer who had been with the team for 6 months.

Well, he certainly can't be much worse, right?

Not sure why I’m putting this here except it’s often the same crowd:

but as I watch Juan Soto belt a HR in his first mlb at bat, I have to say that while it has its misses (usually with mid tier catcher obsessions), soxtalk is pretty damn good at identifying big prospects early.

Soxtalkers were all over Acuna and Soto early, and like a year later they are in bigs.

Yes we loved those guys. Soto showed insane oppo field power there.

THE BESSS WITH A BOMB.

What other young prospects were we all over on here?  We've come a far way from some awful prospects we craved for Peavy (Cecchini, Middlebrooks)

Albies had a fairly big fan base.  And I think some of us were hoping we could get Luzardo in a Robertson trade.

Engle would kill for Jamey Carrols offensive game.

I’d add Devers as a success too. He was nowhere near top 10 when he became popular.

albies I’ll give half credit for since he was a top 20 prospect at time, so not that impressive.

Dont forget with Peavy that Alan Hansen was a big one too. Looking back that trade was just a parade of bad prospects. Avi may legit have been best, Iglesias probably though.

I was anti-Albies, not shamed to admit it

There was a hugwatch day where both Rios and Hansen were not playing during the summer Peavy was dealt

Nice start overall for Stephens

I seem to remember quite a few posters high on Jesus Luzardo too when discussing potential trades with the Nationals last year.

Yep because it was revealed he was coming over in the initial deal that was rejected by Nats ownership

Amazing how awful Clarkin has been since his first start.
