I'm not as opposed to bunting as much as some poster but this is getting ridiculous. I know they are getting 8 hits and no runs but this needs to stop.

Every advanced metrics statnik knows the bunt is NEVER called for any more in modern baseball. Ricky bunts a lot. So he must be shown the door if this team truly is new wave using metrics. I mean one bunt is too many. Is it against baseball's unwritten rules that the GM can't tell a manager to stop calling for bunts? Seriously. If a team is committed to statnik type baseball how can that team allow the manager to bunt???

Nice come back. I thought for sure Engel was toast after trying to bunt the first two pitches but he somehow managed to draw the walk. 

 

Jones made the 9th a little more interesting but he looks to be like he's getting more comfortable closing games.
