Rodon just took a liner off the head. Caught by 3rd baseman but it bounced a good fifty feet in the air off his head.  He appears to be ok but was removed. Sigh...

Man, we can’t catch a break.  Hope he’s okay.  He was dealing.

Lol...so very true.  It’s like if we let Greg write articles for FutureSox about how dumb prospects are and how the key to the draft is to always draft that year’s Mike Trout.

Great. He's gonna get killed in the bigs at that level. His command is usually on par with Giolito.

  • But you can't call him up because it starts his service time clock.

Charlotte guns showing 90-91 which are usually a couple ticks low. So maybe topping out at 93.

Meh, velo isn't really a concern of mine regarding Rodon. A tweet I saw recently said he was throwing easy 94 in Arizona. I'm assuming when he fully ramps up his velo will be fine.

It's his 2nd real start after shoulder surgery. It's not a shock his velocity is down.

Cease has lost his command in the 4th. To me, he loses his rhythm big time out of the  stretch.

Also before anyone freaks out about Cease's numbers today, he's clearly working on his change up. They are having him throw it in weird counts.

He sat 97-98 in a 1-2-3 first inning.

I'm assuming that Fegan tweet is about Rodon and NOT Dunning?

Just figured out it has to be Cease.

Covey.

Well, that's weird because FanGraphs has his highest velocity this year at 96.8 or something like that...it was Covey's best overall velocity in a start over the last two years, other than a weird anomaly in his 6th start last year where his velocity was 2-3 MPH higher than most of his other starts.

If only we needed a catcher.

They're not going to rush him because the big league club they expect to win roughly 60 games has a need. If he keeps hitting like he has since April 24, however, he might be seen on a Chicago roster near you in mid 2019.

Sept call up this year. 3-3 today

I'm surprised more power hitters who get heavily shifted against don't do this more frequently. Keep taking the free base they keep giving you until they stop shifting.

Collins has really, really come a long way this year. And its still only May.

Cease had a great 5th & 6th after the rough 4th

Cease just had an insane sequence of 99 fastball and then a plus plus curve

Curve was filthy

Guess I needed the green font.

Throwing 99 in the 7th

Cease is so hngh.

Dunning pulled his start together after that adventure of a 1st inning. Could have been worse.

4 very soft hits off Cease tonight
