Good to see Yoan swing at a first pitch fastball. Hit it well too but right at the CF

I liked seeing that too. If pitchers continue to throw first pitch fastballs over the plate to get ahead then it makes sense to take a hack at it instead of trying to work the count and end up swinging or looking at a pitchers pitch for strike three.

Swing away Yoan, swing away!

Nice inning for Shields

Apple commercials are so bad

Well - back to the spin that Shields is  invaluable because of all of his help in the development of young pitchers.

yes, and I'm aware of the clownshow behind him.

Frank Thomas had to go through the same stages.  He had to swing early just often enough to keep pitchers honest.

Great example! I forgot about Thomas needed to do the same thing. I believe this is the principal behind Abreu recently telling Yoan to swing earlier in the count.

The D continues to suck a D.

Still accurate.

Hopefully fundamentals are getting better in the minors so we don’t see this crap in a couple years.

And people talk about TA's defense. Nice half-assed effort Leury.

And this ball game is ova!

This team is an utter disaster..

Ugly game man

This shit is unwatchable.

This really has turned into a clown show on defense. Everyone to DH lol. The definition of "fun bad" all you can do is laugh they're so damn bad at baseball.

Ricky's doing an amazing job getting these guys to play the right way.

Don Cooper needs to get on the elevator to the front office and tell them defense wins championships. The glove work is killing his boys.

Hopefully this helps Ricky out the door..

Full refunds for all 900 people in attendance.

Moncada needs to be sent down if he keeps this up defensively.  He has to earn his playing time.  11 errors, and most of them have led to big innings and lots of extra pitches.

Leury should have been pulled from the game as well.

No excuse for being lackadaisical, complete lack of effort and focus.

Another good AB for Moncada. 104 MPH EV

Again, I wouldn't be shocked if they use the minors to motivate Yoan. They've been taking so much about trying to improve his focus, I can totally see them using this option.

I thought it should've been ruled a hit. Really tough play to make
