It does suck for Dunning. I feel bad for the kid. He seemed to have both plus stuff and pitchability, which is something rare at the top level of the organization after watchingKopech, Fulmer and Giolito’s struggles. He should probably be back in 2020. You almost have to account for a TJS in a young pitchers development cycle. The procedure is so prevalent in modern pitcher development.

  • Sucks, but this is why the stockpile is so important. And you can’t write him off forever. He could still be fine in 2020.

  • If he's as injured as its feared that's now Giolito, Cease, Stephens and now Dunning (not even counting the bullpen guys) with TJS. You absolutely load up on these guys.

Lol, nothing definitive will come out about Dunning until the Sox get an MRI done and then evaluate the results. Patience Sox fans.

They pretty much know already. The physical tests are more functionally accurate then the MRI. They'll know by how much laxity there is. They won't announce anything until after the MRI however.

Makes sense and thanks for the insight.

Stephens is dealing. He really has pitched himself into consideration for a rotation spot.

Not that hard to do these days but definitely should be up soon, crazy how well he adjusts to every level meanwhile Kopech is all over

We need some more 1B prospects

Sheets has serious potential although isn't lighting up WS...Burger may have to move there as may Collins who seems like he'll be a good MLer...Zangari/Abbott/Yurchak all interesting...Little disappointed in Gillaspie's year

Delgado with a 2 run bomb!

This kid is off to a great start, should be hyped rolling into 2019

I'll go ahead and guess Jimmy Lambert gets bumped to Birmingham.

Would like to see him get tested, wonder where he ranks among our P prospects

Hunter Kiel has been real good in 2 appearances, who knows . . .

Loved him at LSU but also almost 22 facing HS kids

Isn’t Dr. James Andrews based out of Birmingham...?

Didn’t realize he’s already 76 years old now.

Renteria said they considered it “a moderate strain,” and said they’re not too concerned but acknowledged Dunning needs to be re-evaluated

That giant text is an update from Renteria on Dunning per Fegan.  Maybe there is some reason for optimism?

fingers crossed for good news here

The best news we could hope for is that Dunning doesn’t need surgery, and only needs to be shut down til next Spring
