  • Ricky's boys with the tank loss.  Highlight of the game was the nun's first pitch. Yoan would have struck out looking on it

  • Robot umps would make Moncada an all star at this point.

Annnnd there's his first K with the glasses.

149 BA since ASB sinking towards the Mendoza Line.

6 k’s clear of Gallo, 172 to 166.

Sucks we can't count on him to boost his average batting lefty anymore.  Like I said earlier, no doubt he's not close to 100 pct.  It seems impossible for him to drive the ball to the opposite field right now.

Covey has settled in nicely.

4 IP no runs from any Sox pitcher is grounds for a polka party.

Covey should have a future as an extra starter and long man in the pen. He certainly has made some impressive starts.

Off come the glasses

And now he doesn't wear them. I really hope he didn't give up on them after one strikeout.

I hope the Sox keep running on Sally as much as possible said all the Royal fans.

And now he got a hit.. so does he suck less now?

It worked! :)

Why do I have a sinking feeling our big offseason move will be signing Brian Harvey?

I honestly have no idea who that is. Do you mean Matt Harvey?

Oops, an Angels pitcher from long ago.  Yes, The Dark Knight of former yore, now a Red...

Covey has never beaten the Royals in six career starts, fwiw.  Might be a good thing, with the Padres lapping at our heels.

Engel can't get a bunt down and gives up an out.. smart baseball there...

So now does Avi get to sit down and talk to Ricki about dumb managing?

Seems fair.

Bunting with 2 strikes is dumb for anyone to do. This is the second time I've seen the Sox do this and both have resulted in free outs for the other team. Come on. Engel already had 2 singles, let him swing.

another one called a K that was far outside.. man he can't win. Seemed like a makeup for the 1-2 call

Yet another called strike 3 outside the zone...yeah, the previous pitch was high, but clipped the top of the zone.

Wow that was terrible

Still happy with his ABs tonight. That was a pitch that would have been tough to hit and wasn't close.

I've seen them do it many many times.. many more than two.
