If two of Rodon, Lopez and Giolito take off, they could have a team this year, should they add Machado, Pederson and Gonzalez. I would think they are one OF away, and I wouldn't mind Jones or CarGo on a 1 year deal. Even though Palka could be something, his obp sucked ass last year and he still hit .246. He's basically Schwarber without the walks. Let's not turn him into the South Side version of Micah Hoffpauir, please. He's 27 and had an ok year on a 100 loss team, Add Manny, Pederson, and Eloy to what they already have and that is suddenly pretty good. The bullpen is much improved as well. The rotation is iffy, but adding a vet like Gonzalez would be nice. Rodon/Lopez/Gonzalez/Nova/Giolito isn't great, but it's not awful either. That group should at least give them a chance to compete in a poor division next year. Then Kopech and Cease can replace Gonzalez and Nova in 2020 and maybe a guy like Dunning will be ready by then too.

January 24, 20197 yr Hahn was directly quoted by the mainstream media during the Jay press conference via phone (I believe it was the Jay presser) that "he'd sleep better at night" if the Sox added another arm to the rotation.

Poor Dylan Covey and Fulmer. Well, they'll be stuff thrown at the wall hoping it will stick if they're not traded or the victim of roster crunches.

January 24, 20197 yr 1 yr, 3 mil for Brach. Seems like prices have dropped drastically across the board of late. Makes Herrera seem like a big overpay.

Yah, was just coming here to say that exact thing. Herrera is 3-4 years younger than Brach and has quite a bit more upside, but yah... Brach at $3M is a VERY nice deal. Surprised more teams wouldn't be interested..
