March 27, 20197 yr Those other situations are also very sad. As long as Eloy puts up a 3 WAR seasons (as projected by many publications) and Palka shows any kind of improvement, we won’t be a bottom 5 OF.

March 27, 20197 yr Eloy, Robert, Harper....oh what could have been. Anyways - Eloy, Robert, Basabe will be really good in 2020 at some point with L. Gonzalez chomping at the bit. Jon Jay will be serviceable this season as a bandaid for FA failure. If Rutherford rakes this season I fully expect him to get packaged with some relievers and prospects for another starter.
March 27, 20197 yr Jay did not play much CF this spring. 15 innings in CF, 41 in RF, and 0 in LF. I don't think Jay is going to the the primary CF at any point this season like many of us expected. Bad news for the Adam Engel haters, though I expect Leury to get 75% or so of the starts in CF to start the season.

This OF is actually better than what I was expecting. If you are not getting offense from your OF you will not win. Plus we can bring in defensive replacements in the third inning if needed.
