Wasn’t he one of the worst pitchers in baseball in terms of metrics for almost all the year?

Lopez? No.  He got considerably better last year. Gio was the worst pitcher.

LOL that “no fool” just gave Darvish a terrible contact in the 2018 off-season

I'll take him over Kenny-Hahn any day of the week. Thanks.

A few days ago I said fry sucks. And I was wrong, he fucking blows

Yep. Should have sold high on him last year ala Tommy Kahnle. Fry is gonna be out of baseball once the the 3 batter minimum reliever rule takes effect.

Fry is not allowed to leave the organization until after he and Burger are in the same game together.  Priorities.

Theo's politically correct non sense and not backing up Maddon cost them the title last season. I'll take Kenny-Hahn.

What metrics would those be? Some metrics made it look for much of the year like his ERA may have overstated his success, but they wouldn't have led to the conclusion that he was pitching badly

Led to the conclusion that if he didn’t start missing bats and throwing strikes, he was going to get killed. He finished strongly but looks even worse to start the year than he did last year when his metrics were so bad.

His 5.22 xFIP in 2018 says otherwise. Both Lopez and Giolito were the bottom 2 in qualifying pitchers with regard to xFIP.

At least tomorrow is Giolito day. Fingers crossed for a repeat of his first start.

Blowing games suck

August he had a 4 FIP, and September he had a 2.74 FIP in about 65 total innings. He was very good down the stretch. Hes k rate also jumped up to 8 and then 9.55 the final two months. He never looked that good in Washington and it was following a change. He needs to find that again.

With the ball flying out like it is, 2 ER is a best case scenario tomorrow.

Have to say Eloy almost always looks like he's half-assing it on defense

He said he got considerably better and you say nope, then proceed to cite his year long stat instead or his improvement.

No he did get better in September. The guy Lopez was in September 2018 is an MLB pitcher. The guy from March-August 2018 was not.

Burrific!

No he did get better in September, I didn't see that.

A 4 FIP with 8k per 9 is much better and fine as well. The final third of his season he got significantly better.

I'd love to know what this means...

In short: Maddon states he doesnt know all of information on the SS who supposedly was hitting his wife, which was true at the time. Theo then publicly says Maddon was insensitive.

Lets get some damn hits now.

Omar just isn't a ML catcher.

That is why they traded him.

OMG Anderson took a walk!!!

Tim Anderson walk alert!!!!

Ball 8

Now watch Abreu go after the first pitch an hit into a DP

How come Gearrin doesn't play for the Sox ?

Shadows might be an issue here, if the pitcher can find the strike zone.

Edited by Jack Parkman

Glad to see Anderson lay off two low pitches
