Haha, the problem with that is this board loses its collective minds. Everybody freaks out and thinks we are never going to win another game again. The negativity is quite awful. But hopefully this is our last year getting a good pick for a long time.

Unfortunately its the 2010  break for the Sox.

Interesting. No HS SS, and 1 college SS. Lots of OF and pitching right now.

Austin Martin should be listed as a SS.  I'm pretty sure the plan is to slide him there in the spring.  But yes very deep in pitchers and outfielders.  Some really good catchers too.

The Area Code games start today.  Last year there were 2 home runs hit in the entire event and both were by Illinois guys.  Jason Hodges and JD Gladney.  I think many more will be hit this week.  

No home runs hit on the first day but there were some big velos.  Travis Sthele 93-96 Jared Jones 91-94 Mick Abel 89-93 Cade Horton 91-93 Case Williams 90-93 LHP Dax Fulton 89-93.  Tanner Witt and Jace Bohrofen had a couple hits.  

More big velos and surprisingly no home runs on day 2.  Jared Kelley was 95-98 Cam Brown 90-93  Tanner Witt 89-93.  Blaze Jordan had a hit. 

The Perfect Game All American Classic is on MLB network tonight at 7pm. This marks the end of an event packed summer.  Once again it's a loaded roster.

The Sox would be picking 9th as of right now

Not Abel's best inning but you can clearly see there's a lot to like there.  Big strong with a clean easy del and late life on the fastball.  And that slider is dirty.

Dax Fulton is a nasty young man.  That shit just isn't fair.  

When Drew Romo gets his man muscles that ball lands 50 ft over the wall.  

Dan O'Dowd dropped a David Dahl comp on Zac Veen.  I like it.

They announced  Team USA and three guys from the area made the squad.  Ed Howard (IL), Ben Henandez (IL) and AJ Vukovich (WI).  The team is absolutely stacked.

For anyone else interested, Howard is an INF from Mt Carmel, and Hernandez is an RHP across the street from guaranteed rate field at De La Salle Institute. That's pretty cool.
