My question isn't whether he deserves it, but if there's anything he could do from a results perspective to be fired or transitioned to a different role in the organization.

I vote this to be the dumbest poll of all time.

Coop has a job as pitching coach for as long as he wants it. Him and the FO appear to get along well and that is all that matters. Managerial chemistry appears to be more important than results on the field for this organization.

Next year is a huge year for the Sox pitching staff. Cease and Kopech are going to have to be on the levels of Thor and Kluber right out of the gate if they Sox plan on competing next year. No pressure there...

That is probably fair, to be honest.

Coop's effectiveness as a pitching peaked years ago. He serves the Chairman in other roles.

Its pretty obvious that he does.  Recent results aside, he most definitely has earned his tenure and rep.  I would not be opposed to a new voice, but can't argue either way what effect it would have.

I will say whoever made the decision to pitch Rondon in a 6-1 game the other night (Ricky or Coop) should be fired immediately. That's a mockery of the game of baseball. We can't come back from five down at home?? Sometimes I think Ricky has this team overachieving then that happened to anger me.

It is currently impressive in its agreement.

If we take lifetime security to mean he has the job until he is either too sick or dies on the job then the answer has to be no, well unless one of those things actually happens.

Rumors have been that Cooper is JR's "spy" in the clubhouse.

Wtf does this even mean? What is he spying on? Are they gonna have coke fueled orgies if Cooper goes on vacation.

I heard that and some blamed him for Ozzie’s exit. I am not saying I agree but that’s what was being said

Yes, just look at what happens when a new manager is hired.  They have no say in picking their staff.

Till JR dies he is here, if he chooses to be.

I hope not, but I fear he's got the job until he doesn't want it anymore, which hopefully will be soon.
