Thank god!

Probably time to cut bait with Fulmer. Dude is a waste of a 40 man roster spot. Let someone with some actual upside take his place.

First round 7th overall pick in 2015.  Looks to be worthless.  Remember when the Sox swapped Joe Borchard for Matt Thornton.  Both were disappointing first round draft choices.  Thornton worked out very well for us.  Time for some of that same creativity.

And not one real prospect to bring up.

Fulmer has neither stuff nor control.  I suspect for him to amount to anything, they'll have to completely break down his delivery, work with him for at least a year in Az and see how it goes.  Of course they should have done that 3 years ago instead of rushing him into the 2016 roster.

We are three years deep into this rebuild and the FO has been drafting college relievers left and right over the past few years. Something does not compute.

Matt Foster is close to ready, Tyler Johnson is returning from injury, Ian Hamilton is still dealing with lingering effects from injury. All 3 are pretty much MLB ready though

Matt Foster? Who is that? Has Johnson even pitched in AA yet? Ian Hamilton has been getting lit up like a Xmas tree.

Yea Hamilton is broken it seems. Ruiz will be back though. I like his arm. He just shouldn't of skipped AAA. Let him develop there then call him up later.

The problem is drafting college relievers in the first place.  That's as low a ceiling you can get.

That's why I despise the draft and tanking for baseball's draft. What a joke.

Johnson has not pitched in AA yet, but at 23 and having dominated A+, he could be here in September if he returns soon

Hamilton has been awful but he also isn't totally healthy

I have no idea who we are bringing up

None of these dudes are that exciting. The Sox will be extremely lucky if one of them turns into a productive mlb pitcher.

I could see the argument for Foster, but a healthy Hamilton and Johnson are about as exciting as you can get when it comes to relief prospects

It's easy, folks. Find the scouts who recommended Fulmer and you fire them. Is it that difficult?

Vieria and Burr?

Rick Hahn always has the final say on your 1st round draft pick and in rushing those players up to the big leagues, and yes, his performance, 30th/30 teams in wins but the absolute best in telling Chairman Reinsdorf that he's doing a great job, firing that guy is impossible.

I don't think Vieira can come back so soon since he was just optioned and there's no injury. I'll go Burr and Frare/Foster

I’m guessing Frare gets one of the spots.  Is Vieira even eligible at this point?

Isn’t the 40 man full?  Unless this means what we all think it means with Rodon and he’s going on the 60 day DL.

Without looking at the 10 day limit, the guys who can be called up without having to add someone to the 40 man roster are:

Frare
Cease
Hamilton
Medeiros
Stephens
Viera
Zavala
Adolfo
Basabe
Jay
Palka

What the F*** happened to John Jay anyway? How his he not on the 60 day IL? He's missed 40 days.

I can't imagine they will 60 day IL him today, not until they're 100% certain he's headed for TJS. Maybe it's 95% at this point but they said they are waiting for the swelling to go down, if they're waiting for that then they can't 60 day him first.

They should bring up a starter to eat innings post Covey.  It won’t be Cease both for baseball and marketing reasons.  Can’t be Stephens, he got lit again tonight.  I wonder if they would consider Lambert.  He has to be added at the end of the year anyway.

Honestly I did not know that Cease was already on the 40 man. Given that, Cease should be coming up right now. There is no contractual benefit to holding him down unless you wait another 3 months.

He's doing his best Bartolo Colon disappearing act.
