Caleb Freeman

Texas TechRHP
Notes:

Ht: 6-3 | Wt: 205 | B-T: R-R
Commit/Drafted: Never Drafted
Scouting Report: A glance at Freeman’s statistics would seem to preclude any idea of him being drafted. Freeman was expected to be Texas Tech’s closer thanks to a 94-98 mph fastball, but he’s much more of a thrower than a pitcher and his velocity dipped to 92 mph at times. Most importantly, he can’t find the strike zone. Opponents hit .393 against Freeman, as he went 2-0, 6.75 with 12 walks and 12 strikeouts in 14.2 innings this spring. Freeman shows flashes of having a plus breaking ball to go with his sometimes plus fastball, but his 20-grade control and command keeps him from taking advantage of his high-end stuff.

He went 2-0 in spite of the high 6.75 ERA and batting avg against..."Caleb is just a winner"

3rd round slot is $667K. They are likely giving Allan close to $4 million. If Allan chooses not to sign, they'd lose $667K but they could still offer Barco the remaining the 3.3 million they had allot

He'll help with the Sox recruiting pitch for Witt when he is a free agent in 8 years.

I like it. Plus speed, elite bat speed metrics, good arm strength and pop times. https://www.perfectgame.org/Players/Playerprofile.aspx?ID=394663

Gladney is a fun one.

Rules:

- Position player with plus raw power and poor hit tool = fun

- Pitcher with big arm but no control = sucks

Finally!!!  Kids got massive power and I mean MASSIVE power.

Gladney is a big and strong third baseman with a promising bat and plus raw power. There’s contact issues right now to go with the power. There are more concerns about his defense as a number of evaluators believe he will end up in left field eventually. He’s signed to go to Eastern Kentucky.

Yeah, talking about a bad hit tool. Swing over spin, look at a strike, then swing over spin again. Good start to the video.

Well, he's not Lance Broadway.

Yep. I'm surprised that video is even up. It is more of a lowlights video.

Kid is getting drafted cause he can crush the ball when he actually makes contact. real high exit velocity numbers according to perfect game.

2080 puts up what they get. They have a lot of boring highlights but also, not a criticism, it's great how much video content they have for all types of prospects.

Yeah, it was bad. Hopefully he just like needs glasses or something haha

Also, it appears he is a White Sox ACE guy

Gladney will hit he's just a typical northern kid who needs more reps.

That was fast Davis. ;)

Given the two, I feel like it's more likely a pitcher figures it out enough to hang around.

Hit tool and control are skills that are pretty difficult to teach

The freaking Diamondbacks landed 13 of the MLB.com top 200 players. That is insane.

Ooo Peralta's numbers are fun. Very good K rate.

He's the type of arm you take a chance on and see if he can be developed

Wew, he strikes out A LOT.

Rivera was a pitcher and IF. Played mostly 3B. Sox have him listed him as a SS which speaks to his athleticism.

Chipola is like a really good CC right (for baseball)
