I don't think there's any way they trade Robert. They're not THAT dumb. I could see them trading Madrigal or Vaughn.

Holy fuck, so many White Sox fans are insufferable assholes. Steele Walker is a 23 year old platoon/fringe prospect in high A. Mazara was a former top 20 prospect and is only 24. ONLY 24!

  • A year ago...Soxtalk posters be like...we really need to acquire some guys with real upside. Sox go out and acquire Mazara, a former top 10 prospect in all of baseball who has gotten Albert Pujols com

Yes that seems like a clear option although one wonders if Castellanos would be on board with potentially getting stuck at DH in the event that Mazara breaks out. If he's thinking about his next contract he probably wants to play in the field for as long as possible.

The White Sox didn't trade an asset to fill RF only to go out and pay a guy 80 million, that other teams are asking to play RF, to be their DH.

Jack, back away from the keyboard pal. The White Sox aren't trading Robert for anyone or anything.

Yes they are.

See: Tatis/Shields.

Never underestimate the stupidity of the Sox FO.

I'd hope Robert is off limits after JR spent $52M on him.

You’re putting too much faith in Hahn lol

This is the first time anybody has ever written this about Fathom.

That isn’t happening, lol.  Calm your ass.

I would love a trade for Chris Taylor of the Dodgers. He would be the perfect utility player for what this team needs.

Totally agree.

The Sox just need to go out and get Castellanos. Mazara can play RF against right handers, while Castellanos is at DH. Castellanos can play RF against lefties with McCann at DH. It makes so much sense which is why they won’t do it.

If you can't see the difference between Tatis in 16 and Robert now idk what to tell you

Agreed and agreed.

Remember when Hahn was bragging how teams kept calling him about Ryan Cordell? Just ignore him, his brag stuff is always BS.

Oh I can. I just think they're awful at their job. And imbeciles.

There's zero chance of that, although I'd say that comment suggests one of Vaughn or Madrigal could be in a package for a legit stud (Snell?).

Hmmm, I read it and interpreted as they may acquire a right-handed bench bat to complement Mazara in RF.

It could mean anything about pitching ,signings, or trades with or without Mazara involved in them There's really no reason to get too specific on what it meant like you have.

No problem with that.

Honestly, I'd prefer it was Madrigal. Idk if the Rays would want him because they just traded Pham for a 2B.

Haha, and in less than half a season of plate appearances, we don’t even want Cordell.

Avi is still a pretty good fit I think. Makes Mazara the DH when everyone is healthy.

I have to imagine it'd be Vaughn

Somehow this messageboard gets more and more reactionary everyday.

Think about what you've just posted.  Seriously.

Then take a long walk off a short pier

Castellanos RF and DH

Why do smart posters keep forgetting DH is locked up with our team leader the next 3 years?  This team never would have reached 70 wins without Abreus leadership.

Lol now Hahn is talking about eagerness to get stuff done at the meetings.

Not really. It's just me going to a dark place because I think Kenny/Hahn are morons.

I was 90% joking.

I really don't think they're THAT brain dead, but you never know.......

Hopefully Jerry reminds them of the $52M he shelled out for Robert, and there is no way he's playing his first 6.5 years anywhere but here.

this video gives clarity to his comments. Sounds like Nomar will bat lower half of the lineup against RHP

It would be very Sox to trade the only true patient hitter they have in the minors.   Vaughn is a 5 WAR 1B is he hits 280/380/500.  He can do that as soon as 2022 imo.

Good point, unless they think Vaughn will be traded it makes no sense.  Vaughn has to play somewhere if he isn’t dealt and that would be 1B or DH.
