Fulmer still looks like a gascan.

Not one of KW's finest hours.

But he's in love with hard throwers.

  • Nicky Delmonico LF/1B Currently making his case for the 26th spot. He has battled adversity and is still standing. Sox may want a lefty on the bench.  Biggest competition? Aj

Anyone putting Bassitt in the rotation over Reylo is crazy, imo. Bassitt is 31 years old and he had one decent season with a 4.4 FIP and 2.1 fWAR. That was in Oakland as well - one of the easiest

Any word on how Grandal looked in the B game?

Who is 87?  He looks like a clown with those glasses and that chain.

Palka ground out.  Vaughn up.

Beautiful swing by Brugman.  Opposite field double.

Vaughn, in really tough conditions with the sun, rips one down the right field line for a double.  What a beautiful swing.

Zach Remillard, a 26 year old former 10th round pick and not-really-a-prospect swings on 3-0 and keeps the train moving with a roped single into left.  Yermin up with two outs and a chance to tie or take the lead.

Brugman and Vaughn both with classic doubles followed by a big hit by Remillard.  Our boys are making a game of it.

Yermin got a cookie and he fouls it off.

@poppysox was surprised Vaughn was able to score on that, decent wheels.

Thats a terrible call ump

Yermin battles but takes a called 3rd strike.  Looked like it had a bit of the plate.  Great pitch.

hard to judge with the camera so far towards 3rd but I thought it grabbed some plate.  ump's been calling them strikes in that area all game from what I can tell.

I was ready to say something complimentary about Yermin when the ump foiled my plan.

Sox go 123 in the 9th, game to the A's 6-5.  Some good signs from the guys that matter today.

Typical spring...I'm getting ready for the roster to be trimmed down soon.  Really want to see more of the guys with a real chance to make the team.

I'd imagine by the end of next week you'll see most of the prospects re-assigned to their affiliate, maybe a NRI cut or two, and then we are only two weeks away from opening day. Hard to believe it's basically 3 weeks away.

Quick overreaction:  Sox should have acquired a veteran middle infielder

Not an overreaction.  They should have done it regardless.  Guys like Miller and Dozier were signed for next to nothing.  Gennett is still available.

Well if playing time early is any indication the Sox are going to give mendick the nod, at least for the first three weeks or whatever.  he looks alright at SS in a ultra small sample so maybe he can be decent at 2B until Madrigal comes up -- it's only going to be about 20 games.   you're talking about probably .5 WAR at absolute most lost, and that is at absolute most if mendick is replacement level until madrigal comes up.

madrigal is going be the everyday guy barring injury anyways for 135 games.

Or Leury....seems Engel and Delmonico could both make it.
