Anyone else surprised Morgan came off the board before Fromm?

Bears select Trevis Gipson - DE (Tulsa)

Edited by SoxAce

Bears trade up. Conviction. Fired up.

Gipson will be a OLB in our system. Graded pretty well... guess Pace is saying "fuck it I'll load up on D" or something.

Give me Antoine Brooks Jr. Pace and even though he's a SS and not an OL-man I'll consider that a win. Kid plays very similarly to Adrian Amos... like... to a T.

Bears pick Kindle Vildor - CB (Georgia Southern)

Sounds awesome.

269. Kindle Vildor, CB, Georgia Southern (5-10, 191)
An emotional captain, Vildor is a heady competitor who plays fearless and trusts his instincts to point him in the right direction. However, he doesn’t have great size, speed or strength, which severely lowers his margin for error both in coverage and in run support. Overall, Vildor is a tough evaluation because he consistently overachieved as a junior, due to his smarts and short-area quickness, but he didn’t play at the same level as a senior and doesn’t have ideal size or play speed for the position.

Bills just picked Fromm.

It has to be. He seems to be counting on a new OL coach (who was unemployed last year) to turn around that unit and a below average QB to be good enough. He also seems to have waved the white flag on drafting offense in general. He must realize he sucks at it and the D will carry them again.

Bears trade up again.

Pick Darnell Mooney - WR (Tulane)

Strength? He tied for 1st in bench reps for DBs...

Oh and FYI, Mooney ran a 4.38... speeeeeed.

Where is the offensive lineman they needed? How do we feel about Pace giving up a fourth next year for a defensive end?

Day 2 small school central day, trading round 4 next year was unnecessary.

I am content with this draft.  I still expect them to make a free agent signing or two, probably at safety and maybe a Jason Peters type vet oline guy.
