August 11, 20205 yr If I were manager I’d fine guys for sliding head 1st into first base. It’s just dumb and ultimately selfish if you get hurt.
August 11, 20205 yr This is actually a good thing. With TA7 back he will play everyday, and this keeps Engel in the outfield over Garcia. Madrigal needs to get back quickly though, since Mendick has to do a huge lift and SS backup is not great for him at all.

I'm thinking the new normal of lift and pull everything, K or HR, is not necessarily the best course of action for the majority of Sox hitters. I never understood why with two strikes hitters don't try for contact only and to get on base.

August 11, 20205 yr Ryan Goins has more than NINE lives with the White Sox...train your kids to be versatile Whit Merrifields/Ben Zobrists/Chone Figgins'es or left-handed throwing relievers, they will last in the big leagues until at least age 35, if not longer. I don't understand major-league players who do it. There's no tactical advantage gained, all you have to do is beat the throw.
