October 20, 20205 yr Tired of larussa talk so lets do it. Pros: Good name, I could see it working I like "Rising Star" as a thing Cons: No experience Stanford - annoying alumni, but maybe this is a pro as they are less annoying than michigan (sorry @Brian ) His name's pun potential more often denotes bad things so maybe we'll put it in the bad column too
October 20, 20205 yr Author I'd be happy with this. It's the baldelli route and that's fine and good. I'd rather sox have a system where manager responsibilities are more distributed than the superstar manager route.
October 20, 20205 yr I think this is one of those options that Hahn was talking about that they will keep an open mind about. The Sox are just exploring the market until they can interview the candidates they are really serious about. Edited October 20, 20205 yr by maloney.adam
October 20, 20205 yr Oh can I guess, Bob Nightengale is going to pick up on the story and run with it for a couple days but than we will not hear anything about it anymore. ? Edited October 20, 20205 yr by maloney.adam

Ok now I can see that happening and would like that a lot but Fuld as a manager to start out. Ehhh I don’t know about that especially with having no experience. It’s like with AJP, he would be better starting off as a bench coach before manager. Edited October 20, 20205 yr by maloney.adam

I hope the World Series ends quickly. The names that have been thrown around lately have been nothing but confusing and kind of ridiculous to say the least. October 20, 20205 yr Author For the record Fuld has interviewed for quite a few manager positions last few years so it’s not out of nowhere
October 21, 20205 yr As a Rays fan (live in TPA but Sox will always be my #1 team) I remember him in the OF. Hopefully he does not teach Robert to superman every fly ball lol Jokes aside I would love to have him as a bench coach and up and comer.

I think we've started to overemphasize this hire too much. I'd rather see white sox re-imagine the manager role than lean back on the 2010 era. Hinch/Cora/Quatraro are the inbetween there and the ideal but hinch cora have baggggage
