He's not majority leader until the 20th, and that's assuming that the seating of the 2 Georgia Senators isn't blocked by legal action.

Republicans are still planning on objecting and dragging this out.

The new Congress doesn't have to wait until the 20th. The new Congressional term began a couple of days ago. Pelosi has been re-elected as speaker. Regardless, Schummer is the man now.

A blue-city mayor bringing in law enforcement resources to get order into property under Trump's purview is just great content.

Except for the whole assault on the republic stuff.

I know the new Congressional term already started, but as of today, there are 51 Republicans and 48 Democrats in the Senate, so Schumer can't take power until the new guys get seated.

The police were complicit and I wish the media would recognize this. They weren't "caught off guard." They let them in the Capitol and then took selfies with them.

If there are any honorable people left in the trump administration they should enact the 25th Amendment tonight. Everyone knows trump will only do more damage to the United States leading up to January 20th.
