I would say that Lucas is more than twice the pitcher Reynaldo is, but what do I know.

Its a bummer that they didn't get a long term extension done before this.

The arbitration system isn't that simple.

I may be wrong, but didn't the Sox and Abreu do something similar?

I imagine they are still negotiating a long-term deal.  Hopefully one gets done.

Yeah, the Sox QO'd Abreu, he accepted and then they tore that up and negotiated a 3 yr deal. Usually the Sox get extensions done during ST but if OD happens without one, then they have to start thinking like Tampa and Oakland.

They compromised...shows everyone is willing to find a middle ground.

Yeah, he opted into arb, and then they settled for the year.
